Today’s card is a quick-and-done card for the sketch over at CAS(E) This Sketch. The sketch features a band across an offset panel with a sentiment on it. My band? An elegant tree branch. My sentiment? stamped right on top of the owl from Spooky Night. Such fun! Here’s my card:
And here’s the banner for Donna Mikasa’s fun sketch that inspired my card:
- Spooky Cat. Page 53 of Stampin’ Up!’s 2017 Holiday Catalog is filled with so many wonderful products for Halloween (and beyond). Spooky Cat is such a creepy (in a good way) stamp set that you’ll want for your October 31 creations. A cat, a rat and a trio of tiny vats. Here’s a look at this bundle:
Today’s card features the super-fun owl – it’s a THREE-step stamp. I stamped the owl’s body with Crumb Cake. Next I stamped the beak and feet (it’s one stamp) with Pumpkin Pie ink. Last I stamped the eyes and sentiment (it’s one stamp) with Archival Basic Black. Last, I cut out the owl. I perched him on the branch from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies, cropped in Soft Suede. Such fun!
- Merry Little Christmas for Halloween. When I started to make this card, I really wanted to feature the Spooky Night Designer Series Paper. This piece of black paper, through, from the Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper, caught my eye. While it’s a perfect backdrop for a beautiful Christmas card, it’s also a perfect backdrop for my spooky owl. Here’s a look at the patterns in this pack of papers:
- Color Combination. While Pumpkin Pie and Basic Black are always popular colors during Halloween, I added Crumb Cake to this project for a different look. Crumb Cake is a magical color – it pairs with EVERYTHING. It looks particularly wonderful here to tone down the orange. If you like this color combination, too, please save this:
Stamp Sets: Spooky Cat Papers: Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Thick Whisper White Inks: Crumb Cake, Pumpkin Pie, Archival Basic Black Accessories: Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies, Stampin’ Dimensionals
I hope you’ll pop over to the CAS(E) This Sketch site to see the cards by the design team members and to play along with this week’s challenge.
Thanks for stopping by today!
