Today is a BIG DAY! At the same time that Stampin’ Up! kicks off an incredible Online Extravaganza, the Global Design Project shares a new sketch challenge that’s super-fun. Let’s start with the sketch – this week’s layout showcases six squares in two columns and three rows (can you tell I’m an accountant who works in spreadsheets a lot?). Here’s my card:
And here’s the banner for the challenge that inspired my card:
Tips, Tricks and Reminders
- Lots of Love for Bloomin’ Love. The Bloomin’ Love stamp set and coordinating Bloomin’ Heart Thinlits Die were first introduced in Stampin’ Up!’s 2016 Occasions Catalog. I showcased the stamp set in my card today. Even with all the beautiful florals in the set, I showcased the “I” from “friend” and the “love” and “you” from “love you” on my card. Here’s a look at this stamp set:
And here’s a look at at the gorgeous dies that coordinate with the stamp set:
If you don’t already have these products, you need them. 🙂 A sweet stamp set with an over-the-top gorgeous Thinlits die…could you ask for anything better?! Why, YES! It does get better. 🙂 You can get this stamp set for 20% OFF (today ONLY) and the coordinating dies for 30% OFF (today through Sunday, November 26). Here’s a link to all the stamp sets that are discounted TODAY ONLY:
- Trim Your Stocking Thinlits Dies. You already know how much I love, love, love the sentiments in the Tags & Trimmings stamp set, right? This bold, graphic stamp set makes me very happy. The three stitched hearts on today’s card come from the coordinating Trim Your Stocking Thinlits Dies, proving that these dies can be used all year long. There’s even a stitched star that’s cute as a button. Oh! There are also buttons in the stamp set – does that ring a bell? Oh! There’s a bell…I’ll stop there. Here’s a look at this super-fun bundle:
- Valentine’s Day Colors. There are no two colors that are more perfect for Valentine’s Day – Real Red and Melon Mambo. I might not always put the two colors together, but I went there today. Oh, I went there – and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome. If you like this combination of Real Red, Melon Mambo and Whisper White, please save this combination:
Stamp Sets: Bloomin’ Heart Papers: Quilted Christmas Designer Series Paper Stack, Real Red, Melon Mambo, Thick Whisper White Inks: Archival Basic Black Accessories: Trim Your Stocking Thinlits Dies, Stampin’ Dimensionals

and “I Love” this card. Such adorable hearts and clever pattern.
Thanks, Mary! I had a lot of fun with this card – loved playing with this “older” set. <3
Super cute card Brian. It’s symmetrical and a bit asymmetrical at the same time. Odd thing for someone as non mathematical as I am to notice. Main thing is I love it.
I like that, too! It’s all lined up but off-center. Funny how it works that way. 🙂 Thanks, Robbye!
So crisp and perfectly aligned! Love how bright and cheery it is in red and white!
Thanks, Linda! I loved playing with these bright and cheery colors. Such a fun challenge – I hope you’ll play along. 🙂
Love today’s card Brian. Just a super interpretation of the sketch and yes, an ultra fabulous Valentine’s Day card which will get me motivated to get going on Valentine’s cards now that the Thanksgiving and Christmas cards are done. Thanks for the motivation and for always inspiring me.
Done with Christmas cards?! You wow me! Thanks for the comments, Grace. I’m so glad you like this card. <3
Very clever to borrow the “I” from Friend! Very cute
You can’t have Friend without I. OK, it doesn’t work the same as “no I in Team”. 🙂 Thanks, Karina!
