I’m still reeling from my Stamp Showcase presentation on the Main Stage in front of 2,700 people – and I loved every minute of it! I created and shared five new projects with the Bird Banter stamp set that will be available in Stampin’ Up!’s 2018 Occasions Catalog. If you missed my first two projects with this new set, you can see them here:
Today I’m sharing the second card I showcased on the mainstage – this card has a more feminine appeal to it than the green-and-brown parrot card I shared first. Here’s my card:
- Products Showcased. This sassy cockatoo is parading as a flamingo – she’s colored with Flirty Flamingo ink and perched on a sentiment from Stampin’ Up!’s Fabulous Flamingo stamp set. I think she looks amazing against this panel of Flirty Flamingo Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper. Here’s a look a this new Bird Banter stamp set:
Here’s the Fabulous Flamingo stamp set with this super-fun sentiment:There are some really great sentiments in this fun set, right? And a look at the colors and patterns in this amazing pack of papers – this is one of my all-time favorites:

- Coloring the Cockatoo. I played around with several different ways of coloring this sweet bird before landing on this combination that made me very happy. I stamped the cockatoo with Archival Basic Black on Shimmery White cardstock. Once the ink dried, I colored her with a Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Write Marker. To add a little extra shine, I painted her with a Clear Wink of Stella brush. As I shared on stage, “THIS is the kind of glitter and shine that’s allowed in the Fungeon (my stamp room).” 🙂

- Sweet Color Combination. I’m going to miss the 2016-2018 In Colors when they retire next year. Flirty Flamingo and Emerald Envy are like family to me, and I think they are perfect together. The richness of Emerald Envy plays well with the softness of Flirty Flamingo. If you like this combination, too, please save this:

Stamp Sets: Bird Banter, Fabulous Flamingo Papers: Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper, Emerald Envy, Flirty Flamingo, Shimmery White Inks: Archival Basic Black, Stampin’ Write Markers (Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight) Accessories: Clear Wink of Stella, 2-1/4″ Circle punch, Layering Circles Framelits Dies, Stampin’ Dimensionals

Hi Brian, As soon as I saw the title I knew this card would be fun. Another birdy cutie.
Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving to you and your family!
🙂
Thanks, Nancy! I had a lot of fun with this set and still have three more cards to share…all lined up. 🙂 Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, as well. <3
I’m “tickled” by this Bird Banter card and have the stamp set at the top of my pre-order wish list for Dec. 1.
I see what you did there. 🙂 It’s a fun set, Mary! You’ll enjoy playing with these fun birdies.
So cute, I love the feathers on the bird’s head. I think he’s posing to get our attention. Great choices with the color and dsp. Such a fun card, I love it.
Thanks, Robbye! This one looks very proud (although cockatoos always have that look). Pink seemed to suit the attitude. 🙂
Love this card and stamp set!
Thanks, Carrie! It covers lots of occasions and was super-fun to play with.
These birds are such fun and your cards with this set are delightful! May have to add this set to my ever growing list!
Thanks, Linda! I’m not a “bird” person, but I had fun with it. I’d love to see what you make with the set. <3
You need to quit Accounting and go into marketing! You make people want stamp sets that they didn’t know they wanted!
But what if I’m as good at accounting as I am at marketing?! Oh, the dilemma! 🙂 Thanks, Sandra! <3
Thanks Brian! I love this stamp set and have it on my pre-order list for Dec 1. I also love when you do the project picture with the supplies on it. Makes it so easy when I go back to CASE. Happy Thanksgiving, hope it is a great one!
Thanks so much, Debbie! I’m so glad you like these samples (my favorites are still to come). 🙂 Glad you like the product photos, too! <3
Love the cockatoo, and you’ve paired it perfectly with the DSP.
Thanks, Candy! This was a fun card to make. 🙂
I love your FLIRTY BIRDIE ! So cute and the colors are perfect for this prissy cockatoo !
