SNEAK PEEK: Bird Banter (Day Three)

I’m still reeling from my Stamp Showcase presentation on the Main Stage in front of 2,700 people – and I loved every minute of it! I created and shared five new projects with the Bird Banter stamp set that will be available in Stampin’ Up!’s 2018 Occasions Catalog.  If you missed my first two projects with this new set, you can see them here:

Today I’m sharing the second card I showcased on the mainstage – this card has a more feminine appeal to it than the green-and-brown parrot card I shared first. Here’s my card:

  • Products Showcased.  This sassy cockatoo is parading as a flamingo – she’s colored with Flirty Flamingo ink and perched on a sentiment from Stampin’ Up!’s Fabulous Flamingo stamp set. I think she looks amazing against this panel of Flirty Flamingo Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper. Here’s a look a this new Bird Banter stamp set: Bird Banter, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, #145852Here’s the Fabulous Flamingo stamp set with this super-fun sentiment:

There are some really great sentiments in this fun set, right?  And a look at the colors and patterns in this amazing pack of papers – this is one of my all-time favorites:Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up!

  • Coloring the Cockatoo.  I played around with several different ways of coloring this sweet bird before landing on this combination that made me very happy.  I stamped the cockatoo with Archival Basic Black on Shimmery White cardstock.  Once the ink dried, I colored her with a Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Write Marker.  To add a little extra shine, I painted her with a Clear Wink of Stella brush.  As I shared on stage, “THIS is the kind of glitter and shine that’s allowed in the Fungeon (my stamp room).”  🙂Bird Banter, Fabulous Flamingo, Stampin' Up!, Brian King
  • Sweet Color Combination.  I’m going to miss the 2016-2018 In Colors when they retire next year.  Flirty Flamingo and Emerald Envy are like family to me, and I think they are perfect together.  The richness of Emerald Envy plays well with the softness of Flirty Flamingo.  If you like this combination, too, please save this:Stampin' Up!
