Festive Phrases for FabFri127

We’re doing something FUN at the FabFriday Challenge this week – while normally host color and sketch challenges, we are kicking off a theme challenge that will last for two weeks. Such a fun challenge since we already know you are creating and sharing for the upcoming Holidays. 🙂 I had to give my Festive Phrases elf one last inking – here’s my card:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Festive Phrases. Festive Phrases is a sleeper set from this year’s Holiday Catalog – I don’t think it ever received the front-and-center attention it deserves. What a fun combination of four sentiments (perfectly complemented with fun images) to help us create fun projects for Halloween, Christmas and Valentine’s Day! I love this elf and had to play again. I stamped him with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and colored him with my Stampin’ Blends. Love the way he turned out – so cute. Here’s a look a this fun set:

Festive Phrases will be discontinued at the close of this catalog (or as soon as supplies run out) – and the wood mount version of the set is currently marked 20% off. To see all the retiring items and discounted items, click on the banner below:Year-End Sales Event

  • Inks & Papers. After I stamped this elf with Tuxedo Black Memento ink, I colored the image with a mix of Stampin’ Blends. I love the beautiful artistry we can achieve with Stampin’ Blends – they are easy and fun to use and always give a great effect. I used the Light Pool Party marker on the inside of the sign (and blended it with the Color Lifter), the Light Cherry Cobbler marker (very close to Real Red) on the tip of his hat and shoes and a mix of the Light and Dark markers (Old Olive and Daffodil Delight) for his outfit. I used the Ivory Marker for his ears and hands and added a little shadow with the Light Smoky Slate marker. What fun! If you haven’t yet given the Stampin’ Blends, please give them a try! The collection would make a WONDERFUL Christmas gift – and I know someone who sells them and would love to order them up for your loved ones to give you as a “surprise.” Here’s a look at the markers:

  • Color Combination. You already know how much I love the combination of red and aqua, right? Add a little Old Olive to that mix, and you’ve got a brand new look. After coloring this elf with Pool Party, I thought this panel of Christmas Around the World would be a perfect background. The band of Quilted Christmas Designer Series Paper adds an extra pop that makes these colors pop. If you like this combination of Pool Party, Real Red and Old Olive, please save this:Stampin' Up!
