Making Christmas Bright for GDP167

The Global Design Project is hosting a Theme Challenge that I’m certain you can play along with this week – the theme is “‘Tis the Season,” so bust out your Christmas products and a make something beautiful (like you’ve been doing for the past several months). I made a simple card that I’m so happy to share with you today. Here’s my card:

GDP167Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Making Christmas Bright. The Making Christmas Bright Bundle has been a favorite of mine since Stampin’ Up!’s 2018 Holiday Catalog was first introduced. We received this bundle on Stampin’ Up!’s Alaska Cruise Incentive Trip (how fun!). Here’s the odd thing – while I’ve reached for it lots and have inked up almost every image in the set, today is the first time I’m sharing a completed project with this bundle. Do you have sets you love but that take you a while to use? Here’s a look at the Making Christmas Bright bundle:Making Christmas Bright Bundle, Stampin' Up! 149947The Christmas Bulb Builder Punch that’s a part of this bundle also coordinates with the Making Every Day Bright stamp set, another great stamp set in Stampin’ Up!’s 2018 Holiday Catalog. Here’s a look at this stamp set (you might as well add it to your order when you are buying the Making Christmas Bright Bundle):Making Every Day Bright, Stampin' Up! 148813
  • A Grand Opening. I love the sentiment I selected for this card – “Friends make the season shine.” Perfect, right? Not only do the two pieces of this punched light bulb fit together perfectly, but the fun bulb nestle perfectly in the opening of this sentiment (makes me wonder if that’s intentional – even though none of the samples in the catalog place a bulb in that open spot). To add an additional element of fun to the card, I stamped the small string of lights all over the Real Red background panel with Real Red ink. It adds a little texture without taking away from the sweet, simple sentiment and bulb that’s the “star” of the show. • Christmas Colors. Real Red is a classic red for Christmas. When combined with the rich, aqua tones of Tranquil Tide and the cool gray of Gray Granite, Real Red takes on new life. I love this large panel of red on this card that makes the red bulb pop as the centerpiece of this card. 12. HhhhhhhMmmmmm – I got on the computer late today so everyone else has said everything positive and wonderful about your card for today already. So, I guess all I can add is ditto, ditto, ditto, ditto! Love today’s card.

  13. How fun!!! The stamped background is the (light) string that ties it all together. Love that as well as the colors and mats. You are so smart (just like a light bulb moment). Using that bulb was like it was made to fit in that spot with the sentiment. I even thought that when I saw the set in the catalog.

  14. Simple but oh so sweet! Love the subtle stamping in the background!

  15. I love this set as well πŸ™‚ I really love how you made the pattern with the light string stamp, it’s just right! What a de-light-ful card!
