I spent all of my day yesterday cutting papers and wrapping ribbons as part of my Occasions Catalog product shares. Can’t wait to get these bundles of joy to the post office so they can start making their journey to their new homes. Even with all that, I couldn’t wait to cut into the Happiness Blooms Designer Series Paper to create this sweet, simple card:
Tips, Tricks and Reminders
- Happiness Blooms. The starting point for my card is this gorgeous piece of Happiness Blooms Designer Series Paper with a Night of Navy base. How gorgeous is this paper with all the bright colors and bold floral patterns. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in this must-have pack of papers:
These pages are the hallmark of the Happiness Blooms Suite of Products that start on page 25 of Stampin’ Up!’s 2019 Occasions Catalog. If you would like to see all of the products in this suite, click on the image below:
Yesterday I shared my Favorite Things from the new Occasions Catalog – the Happiness Blooms Designer Series Paper is my favorite paper from this catalog – check out the other items on my list here:
- Incredible Like You. The sentiment on this card is plucked from the incredible sayings in the Incredible Like You stamp set. No matter how you crop this sentiment, you can’t center it in a circle – the “f” in “friends” extends so low that it throws off the balance of it all. To obtain the perfect balance, I allowed the sentiment to be off-balance in the circle and then added two cropped flower from the Happiness Blooms Designer Series Paper (I snipped them) to the base of the cutout:
Here’s a look at the Incredible Like You stamp set:
While the set is sold individually, it’s designed to work with the Incredible Like You Project Kit. Here’s a look at the
- Color Combination. The cardstock colors I chose for my card were lifted straight from the Happiness Blooms Designer Series Paper. I adore this mix of three colors from three color families. If you like this mix of Grapefruit Grove, Lovely Lipstick and Night of Navy, please save this:
Stamp Sets: Incredible Like You Papers: Happiness Blooms Designer Series Paper, Night of Navy, Grapefruit Grove, Whisper White, Thick Whisper White Inks: Basic Black Accessories: Layering Circles Framelits Dies, Stampin’ Dimensionals
I hope you like today’s simple card – this paper is absolutely amazing and oh-so-fun to play with.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Wow, such a dramatic backdrop with the Night of Navy and the vibrant colors of the DSP! You really did a super job on this card, Brian.
Thanks so much, Suzie! I love the rich background on this paper. So glad you like the card. Always love to hear from you.
Brian, thank you for this wonderful example of adding white space to a busy DSP, it really makes the colors pop more! Loved the added Cut flowers from the DSP. Great Job!
That’s exactly why I added the white space – just needed to tone down the pattern a bit. So glad you like what I did with it. Thanks, Katrina!
This paper WOWs me every time I see it. I love your bold and modern design.
Isn’t it wonderful?! Thanks so much, Mary! Glad you like it.
You’ve done it again Brian. I wasn’t planning to purchase this DSP but you’ve convinced me that it’s a MUST have! Thanks for all the inspiration!
Thanks so much, Linda! The paper is GORGEOUS! You won’t regret picking it up. 🙂
Love your card and the snipped flowers, the rich colors really chase the rainy day dreariness here away!
We had rain for a week – this weekend was the first couple of days without rain. Yay! Thanks, Cindie! Thanks!
Just beautiful Brian! I would love sending out a bunch of those cards to friends. I’d hold them until I saw the weather was going to be wicked nasty and then mail them out to get a smile out of them despite the weather. Beautiful, bright, cheerful and full of meaning – yup, that about covers this creation – oops, I forgot fabulous!
Nothing wrong with a good “for no reason” card. So happy you like it, Grace! Thanks for your sweet comments.
