Lovely Lattice for GDP

Today kicks off a lovely color challenge for the Global Design Project – the mix of Soft Sea Foam, So Saffron and Petal Pink couldn’t be softer or sweeter! The soft palette gave me an opportunity to play with Lovely Lattice, a Sale-a-Bration stamp set – and I didn’t color the flowers with these soft tones. Here’s my card for this week’s Global Design Project challenge:

  • Lovely Lattice. During Sale-a-Bration, there are so many great ways to earn free product – and who doesn’t love free product?! With every $50 you spend through the end of March, you can choose one of a large selection of Sale-a-Bration products (and there are two items at the $100 level). The Lovely Lattice stamp set is one of those incredible options – and it serves as the focal point of this card. Here’s a look at the Lovely Lattice stamp set:Lovely Lattice, Stampin' Up! 149730I chose to stamp this image over a colorful background, but there are so many other options for showcasing this scalloped oval lattice with flowers. Here are some samples from Stampin’ Up! designers – the first adds lots of color to the flowers, and the second snips them out for a different layout):Lovely Lattice, Healing Hugs, Stampin' Up! • Background Builder. All three of the colors for this color challenge are found in the intricate pattern that serves as the background of my card. To create this pattern, I stamped a full panel of Whisper White cardstock with the rose from the Tea Together stamp set (it’s in the top, left corner of the product photo): Tea Together, Stampin' Up! 148779I stamped the entire panel with the flower in Soft Sea Foam. I cleaned the stamp and then stamped the panel in petal pink and then So Saffron. It’s nearly impossible to see the rose in the pattern I’ve created on the background.Lovely Lattice, Well Said, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingI thought I might add an other layer of the stamping behind the focal panel, but I decided it looked too busy (that’s how I ended up with the white panel in the background). Before I tossed the piece that would be the background, I snapped a picture to show you how these flowers were incorporated: Lovely Lattice, Well Said, Stampin' Up!, Brian King
  • Well Said. If you love sentiments as much as I do, then you know how important they are to any card. I love the stamps and dies that are part of the Well Said Bundle – and this simple saying was PERFECT for this card. How cute is “To my always from your forever”?  I love it! Before you pass on this bundle, be sure to check out all of the wonderful sayings and potential sayings you can create from Well Said stamps and dies:Well Said Bundle, Stampin' Up! 150609
