I’ve been itching to make a sweet card with the adorable bird in the Hey Love stamp set. I am not normally drawn to birds, but I really love this little guy. I stamped him on Thick Whisper White with this fun sentiment and cropped him with an oval die. I colored him and then built the rest of this card around the colors I chose for the bird. Fun. Here’s my sweet Valentine’s Day card:
Tips, Tricks and Reminders
- Hey Love, Incredible Like You, Stampin’ Up!, Brian King, Valentine’s Day card My card features two stamp sets from the Occasions Catalog – and I love both of them very much. While Hey Love is designed for Valentine’s Day, these sweet animals can be used throughout the year. How sweet! Here’s a look at the Hey Love stamp set:
I paired our feathery friend with a sweet sentiment from Incredible Like You. There are so many great sentiments and fun images in this set – take a look:
This isn’t the first time I paired a sweet animal from Hey Love with this sentiment from Incredible Like You. While part of me says I should mix things up a bit, another part asks why I should mess with something that works. 🙂 Click on the picture below to see the post for this card:
- New Stampin’ Blends. I stamped the sweet bird with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and colored him with a Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends Marker. I colored the heart with Lovely Lipstick and his beak with Pumpkin Pie. Here’s a closer look:
Did you miss that Balmy Blue is now a new Stampin’ Blends color? Mossy Meadow is also there! I didn’t see them at first, so I have to assume someone else has missed them. In addition to all of the Stampin’ Blends listed on page 205 of the Annual Catalog, here are the available Stampin’ Blends (carried over from the Holiday Catalog and new in the Occasions Catalog):
- Balmy Blue
- Basic Black
- Blackberry Bliss
- Cajun Craze
- Mango Melody
- Mossy Meadow
- Real Red
- Shaded Spruce
- Sweet Tag. When I mailed out my product shares and Designer Series Paper Swatch Books, I included a sweet, little tag with each. The tag doesn’t qualify for a post of its own, but it’s still rather adorable, so I wanted to share:
I cropped a piece of Pool Party cardstock with the Everyday Label punch. I stamped the bird and colored the heart and his beak. I stamped “thank you” from By the Bay (one of the Sale-a-Bration items available with a $50 purchase) and signed each tag. Cute, huh?
