Thinking of You with To Have and to Hold

There are two stamp sets in Stampin’ Up!’s 2019 Occasions Catalog that feature images of the backs of people’s heads – To Have and to Hold is a wedding-themed set, while Artfully Aware is themed around love and support for those in need. For today’s card, I used the sweet couple in the To Have and to Hold wedding stamp set to create the supportive feeling of Artfully Aware. Here’s my card:

  • Two Stamp Sets. I love the beautiful sentiments in To Have and to Hold – they are perfect for wedding wishes or sending love around an anniversary. “Love you a lot” is perfect for Valentine’s Day, and “Happiness fits you well” is a perfect term of congratulations, don’t you think? Here’s a look at the To Have and to Hold stamp set:To Have and to Hold, Stampin' Up! 148638I stamped the arrangement of flowers at the base of the Crumb Cake panel and then positioned the couple just above the flowers. The small “Thinking of You” from By the Bay was perfect for my card. By the Bay is one of many Sale-a-Bration options with a $50 purchase. Here’s a look at this set:By the Bay, Stampin' Up! 149739
  • Coloring on Crumb Cake. When I set out to make this card, I intended to leave the flowers and couple uncolored. As I sat with it for a bit, I decided to color the flowers with colored pencils. Then I decided to color the couple. The coloring wasn’t in my plan, but I’m so happy with how it turned out:To Have and To Hold, By the Bay, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, thinking of you cardI used some colored pencils from the Watercolor Pencils (Rich Razzleberry, Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive and Early Espresso) and one pencil that’s exclusive to the Lots of Happy Card Kit. I colored the images and then blended them into the Crumb Cake with a Blender Pen. What fun!
  • Color Combination. The Crumb Cake background of this focal panel helps to define the warmth I wanted the card to show. If you like this color combination of Bermuda Bay, Rich Razzleberry and Crumb Cake, please save this:Stampin' Up! Color Inspiration - Bermuda Bay, Rich Razzleberry, Crumb Cake
