Do something creative every day. Every day I spend time honing my creativity. If I’m not able to spend time creating cards with stamps and paper each day, I spend time exploring creativity with books, music or television shows. While I was away on my week-long vacation, I wasn’t able to craft, so I’m getting back into the swing of things now and am enjoying it more than ever. Today’s crafting-themed card shares a wonderful sentiment and some great, new papers. Here’s my card:
And here’s the banner for the fun theme challenge that inspired my card:
- Crafting Forever. Stampin’ Up! caters to all of the needs of paper crafters, but there are some really great products that cater to crafters who are crafting for crafters. 🙂 Even with all the great, new products that focus on crafting, I used this fun (and important) sentiment from Crafting Forever:
I didn’t use it here, but here’s a look at the It Starts with Art Bundle, new in Stampin’ Up!’s 2019 Annual Catalog:
There’s an entire suite of products that coordinate with this bundle. The Follow Your Art Bundle includes Designer Series Paper and some really great accessories. If you haven’t checked them all out, you’ll want to take a look:
- 6″x 6″ Designer Series Paper. With the release of the new catalog, Stampin’ Up! re-designed the 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Papers that are available in the color families (and In Color collections). There’s a small, gingham (YAY!) pattern; a stitched, diamond pattern; a modern mosaic pattern and a pattern of beautiful, small script. Here’s a look at the patterns in the Bright’s 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper:
I used the scripted pattern on my card today. The words on the page say “Inspire Create Share Ink Stamp Repeat” – how fun is that?! It’s beautiful from afar and inspiring when viewed up close. I used Grapefruit Grove from the 2018-2020 In Colors and Flirty Flamingo and Melon Mambo from the Brights.
- Sweet Color Combination. I love the combination of orange and pink – the combination reminds me of sherbet. I cut the three panels of 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper to line up with one another. Here’s a closer look:
If you like this combination of Grapefruit Grove, Flirty Flamingo and Melon Mambo as much as I do, please save this for future reference:
Stamp Sets: Crafting Forever Papers: Brights 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper, 2018-2020 In Colors 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper, Smoky Slate, Vellum Cardstock, Thick Whisper White Inks: Melon Mambo Accessories: Stitched Shapes Dies, 2″ Circle Punch, Stitched Be Mine Dies, Layering Circles Dies, Stampin’ Dimensionals
I hope you’ll pop over to the Global Design Project site to see the cards by the design team members and to play along with this week’s challenge.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Oh my Brian, this card is perfect, such beautiful colors and well balanced. How fun is the three strips of color, then matted on white! I love the vellum that makes the sentiment pop. Very creative!
The colors you choose are great and I love how you used the vellum. (Why do I never think of that?) But the sentiment says it all. Crafting everyday (or just about every day) is so good for the soul!
Gorgeous ombre effect of these beautiful colors. The vellum adds the perfect soft focus!
Love those colors together. Great choices Brian!
So glad to hear that you had a great trip. Congratulations on earning it, you certainly deserved it. Love this card!
your choice of colors and elements is VERY creative. great job Brian!
This color combination is PERFECT…….You have created a work of art my friend. LOVE IT!!!!
I highly resonate with the greeting “Doing Something Very Creative Every Day”. Updating family trees and creating card has really intellectually stimulated me. It takes me about two or three hours to create a graphic card which limits me to two or three cards a week. I am highly appreciative and cognizant of you folks who are punching, cutting, and stamping to make a living and bring beauty into the world. My hat is off to you folks!
Oh, I love it , perfect.
Hugs Frenchie ♥️
Love the color pop against the Smokey Slate. The entire design just blows me away, with the vellum and those die-cut hearts topping the perfect script. (And what a great way to encourage people to order all the DSP collections; they’re so versatile) Thanks for the beautiful inspiration.
Great card with a special sentiment for all, but especially for us crafters. Glad you are getting back into the swing. Enjoy the day. Stay cool.
Amazing DSP line up! Really sweet card!
I really like both these sets and that desighner paper is great with all those pretty ginghams !!
I like your creation for today !
Love those three shades of DSP in the background! And I also love when you sneak in some vellum! I try to do something creative every day….but sometimes life gets in the way!
Brian, the patter paper colors are just perfect as a background for your main image, the vellum most definitely adds a touch of softness and elegance, love it!!!
The line of die-cut hearts just finishes this card beautifully.
Thank you for sharing.
