Spooktacular Halloween Treat Box

I met with my local stamp club this past weekend (their first since Stampin’ Up!’s Holiday Catalog was released), so we covered Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas in one fun class. I’m exited to share a super-cute Spooktacular Bash treat holder we made with Kraft Pillow Boxes from page 172 of the Annual Catalog and some great products from the Monster Bash Suite on page 53 of the Holiday Catalog. Here’s the fun treat box we made:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

• Spooktacular Fun. The Spooktacular Bash Bundle makes me so happy – the fun, cartoon-like images are perfect for children, and the coordinating Ornate Frames Dies are an elegant touch that will be a go-to throughout the rest of the year. My Dracula (I forced my stamp club members to refer to him as “Draaachkoola”) is stamped, cropped and framed with with the bundle. Here’s a look at the Spooktacular Bash Bundle: The banner down the middle of my card is one of the elegant, beautiful pages from the Monster Bash Designer Series Paper (I LOVE this piece). • Terracotta Pillow Box. I love Stampin’ Up!’s Kraft Pillow Boxes – they are only $5 for 10 printed, die-cut pillow boxes that are perfect for gifts, gift cards and other wrapped goodies. What a steal! As soon as I pulled them out, one of my club members exclaimed that she needed a last-minted gift card holder the day before and was glad to have these handy (she wrapped a band of Designer Series Paper around the pillow box, added a tag and voila! Here’s a look at the Kraft Pillow Boxes:I can hear you saying, “But, Brian, those pillow boxes are kraft colored, while your pillow box has an orange hue to it.” That’s because we used the Sponge Brayer to add Terracotta Tile ink to the pouch before assembling. How fun is that?! It was so easy to change the look of the pillow box with just a little ink.
• Shiny Draaachkoola. You can’t see it in my picture above (and can barely see it in the closeup below), but my Draaachkoola sparkles with a glitterly shine. That’s because I embossed him with Shimmer Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder, one of two new emboss powders in Stampin’ Up!’s 2019 Annual Catalog (the other is Shimmer White Stampin’ Emboss Powder). Here’s a closer look:While my image was heat embossed in the dark corners of my craft room, I didn’t want to heat emboss with glittery powder at Marti’s house, so I was just going to let them stamp with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. To build a shine, one club member grabbed a Wink of Stella brush to add shine to her Draaachkoola (the others followed her lead).
