The very moment I saw Donna Mikasa’s sketch for this week’s CAS(E) This Sketch challenge, I knew I’d be playing with the Let It Snow Specialty Designer Series Paper. The paper is festooned with glittery elements – on the hats in the paper I used below). I don’t love glitter (you already know that), but this paper snuck into my Fungeon, and it’s adorable so I figured I should put it on a card. Here’s my card:
And here’s the banner for the challenge that inspired my card:
- Everything Festive. The sentiment in the center of this bold circle is from the Everything Festive, a multi-occasions sentiment set that also coordinates beautifully with the Stitched Nested Labels Dies. I love this one inside a circle.
Here’s a look at this versatile stamp set:
I heat embossed the sentiment with Shimmer White Stampin’ Emboss Powder – not only does it look snowy, but it pairs beautifully with the glitter-filled Specialty Designer Series Paper I used in the background. Here’s a look at this Shimmer White Stampin’ Emboss Powder, new in Stampin’ Up!’s 2019 Annual Catalog:
- Let It Snow. I don’t love glitter, but I really love combinations of red and aqua. The Let It Snow Specialty Designer Series Paper is filled to the brim with snowy scenes and characters. Some of the snowmen in this paper coordinate with the Snowman Builder Punch. I love that! Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Let it Snow Specialty Designer Series Papers:
Don’t you love that paper!?
- Color Combination. The colors I chose for my card were pulled right from the strips of Let It Snow Specialty Designer Series Paper. Smart move, don’t you think? Here’s a closer look:
If you like this combination of Coastal Cabana, Real Red and Basic Black, please feel free to save this for future reference:
Stamp Sets: Everything Festive Papers: Let it Snow Specialty Designer Series Paper, Coastal Cabana, Real Red, Basic Black, Vellum Cardstock Inks: VersaMark Accessories: Shimmer White Stampin’ Emboss Powder, Heat Tool, 2″ Circle Punch, 2-1/4″ Circle Punch, Stampin’ Dimensionals
I hope you’ll pop over to the CAS(E) This Sketch site to see the cards by the design team members and to play along with this week’s challenge.
Thanks for stopping by today!
Brian
Some people love to make cards, and some people love to make tags. Most people love to make both! To deliver more of what Paper Pumpkin subscribers love this holiday season, Stampin’ Up! is offering back-to-back coordinating kits (one with Christmas cards and one with Christmas tags) in October (sign up before October 10) and November (sign up between October 11 and November 10). Both kits make it easy for you to add a handmade, personal touch to your holiday giving—without a lot of fuss.
To read more about these coordinating kits, click here.
I really want you to sign up for these kits because I believe they are going to be wonderful. If you subscribe with me (or are currently subscribed with me) and receive both the October and November kits, then I will send you a small gift of coordinating products as soon as the November kit ships (it might be products from the catalog or a little kit I’ve pulled together with the stamps from the first kit). How fun is that?!

Hi Brian. Love the way you bring images to the forefront with the black layers. I bought both the black and the white shimmer embossing powders and they are fabulous – just like your card.
They are both pretty wonderful (and hard to photograph). So happy this photo turned out so clear. Thanks, Grace! ♥
Fun card today Brian! I can see why you decided to play along with the challenge. It looks interesting. Love the clean lines. Well done!
Thanks so much, Sharon! It all started with this sketch and these strips of paper. So glad you like it! ♥
I’ve not used the shimmer embossing powder yet, perfect choice to use with this cute DSP. As always your choice of colors for the laying is spot on. Thank you Brian for a very cute card.
Such a fun way to use that pattern paper. Great card!!
