When you sit down to Thanksgiving dinner, wouldn’t it be nice to have a little treat holder at your seat with a little gift, treat or note inside? I made these little treat holders with my local stamp club last month (we assembled them at the same time as a Halloween treat holder) – they loved them. With all the great products in the Come to Gather Suite of products featured here, it’s easy to see why they were so well-received. Here’s the project:
Tips, Tricks and Reminders
- Gather Together. With Thanksgiving just around the corner (it’ll be here before we know it), the Gather Together Bundle (including the Gather Together stamp set and coordinating Gathered Leaves Dies) need to be in your home or on your wish list. I’ve really loved playing with this set – so many great elements in it. Here’s a closer look at the Gather Together Bundle:
The Come to Gather Designer Series Paper is absolutely gorgeous – rich with Fall colors and beautiful patterns. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Come to Gather Designer Series Paper:
- Wink of Stella for Color Blending. I’ve shared this tip before, but I loved it so much I had to share it again with my local stamp club. After I stamped the leaf from Gather Together with Pretty Peacock ink, I blended to color throughout the leaf with the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush – and it left a glittery shine. Here’s a closer look:
See the brown leaves that peek out from behind the large, Pretty Peacock leaves? The dies that create these leaves both cut and emboss the leaves. What a lovely texture! When I showed up to stamp club with all my thing, I had…wait for it…forgotten to pack my Come Together stamp set. I was glad Marti, the host, had the Colorful Seasons stamp set and coordinating dies (available in the 2019 Annual Catalog), so we used those for the project we made that day.
- Layers. I love these Kraft Pillow Boxes – they are the perfect foundation for a fun gift (maybe that’s why I use them so much). It’s so easy to decorate these boxes with a beautiful cover. Here’s a look at the Kraft Pillow Boxes:
And here’s a side view of the completed pillow box – a linen thread band and bow give this project a natural appeal. How fun are these layers?
Now that I’ve shared all three of the projects I made with my local stamp club last month, I can show you a picture of their smiling faces, holding their completed projects:
There’s a new face in this group. My customer and friend, Liz Carver, was in town that weekend from Tennessee, so I invited her to come along to stamp club. She fit right in with the group, who asked her if she’d like to make the journey each time we meet. Wish she lived closer!
Aside from today’s Thanksgiving kraft pillow box, here are links to the other projects we made:
