I needed to send out a handful of thank you cards before I left for the Thanksgiving holidays. The most important part of a handmade thank you card (brace yourself for this controversial opinion) is the handwritten note inside the card. As such, I wanted a n elegant (but simple) front for my cards. I chose to create my cards with coordinating products – the Path of Petals bundle and the Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Series Paper. Here’s the simple card I made:
I used some retired Crumb Cake Note Cards & Envelopes to quickly assemble my cards. The card would be just as lovely as a normal-sized card or with either the Whisper White or Very Vanilla Note Cards & Envelopes.
Tips, Tricks and Reminders
- Path of Petals. My card features products for the Pressed Petals Suite in Stampin’ Up!’s 2019 Annual Catalog – the Path of Petals Bundle (which includes the Path of Petals Photopolymer stamp set and Petal Labels Dies) and the Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Series Paper. While the images and sentiments in the Path of Petals stamp set are very stylized to the suite, I only stamped the simple “THANK YOU” on the cropped oval on the front of this card. The dies work beautifully with the stamp set or can be coordinated with other sets. Here’s a look at the Path of Petals Bundle:
And here are some samples from Stampin’ Up!’s 2019 Annual Catalog that beautifully pull together elements from this suite:

- Delicate Dies. The Petal Labels Dies do all the work for me on this card – such intricate, oval dies. There are three oval dies in this set of dies that coordinate with the stamp set and other elements of the suite – one is a small oval, one leaves an intricate design on the outside of a small oval and one leaves an intricate design on the inside of a large oval. I cropped the first die with Crumb Cake and popped it up on the second die that was cropped with Merry Merlot:
That made it easy for me to quickly cut out the handful of thank you cards I needed.
- Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Series Paper. There are so many gorgeous pages in the Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Series Paper, which includes 24 sheets of lightweight paper (4 each of 6 double-sided designs). Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in this pack of paper:
I used this paper in a project I shared with you earlier this week (you can see that project here). I’ve used it several other times. For more inspiration and suggested color combinations with this beautiful paper, CLICK HERE.

Lovely card Brian. I’m sure the recipients will add this card to their special keepsakes.
I love this simple but elegant card, Brian. Great color combo and that die really makes a statement by itself. Enjoy your day!
What an absolutely perfect Thank You card. Thanks for the reminder that I better get busy and make some thank you cards for after the Christmas holiday. You couldn’t have picked a better DSP and the softness of your color choices is fabulous! Love it!
What a sweet thank you card. The DSP and the dies do all the work for you. Simple, yet stunning.
