Today I’m sharing a super-fun birthday card I made with my local stamp club a couple of weeks ago. I didn’t want to share it here because I knew I’d be making something similar with another group, but now I can share! Who wouldn’t love to receive birthday wishes from an adorable toucan in a party hat?! Here’s my card:
Tips, Tricks and Reminders
- Bonanza! My card has a busy background pattern and several layers of fun elements, but I think it’s worth it. Every element contributes to an adorable card that’s sure to bring smiles. Check out the other adorable “buddies” (a koala, a lion and a toucan) in the Bonanza Buddies Bundle:
The background is a large panel of balloons from the Birthday Bonanza Designer Series Paper – again, so fun! Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Birthday Bonanza Designer Series Paper: 
- Incorporating Metallic Twine. I mean, really! How adorable is this guy? One of my favorite things about this card is that I was able to incorporate the Metallic Baker’s Twine & Sequins Combo (one of the Sale-a-Bration gifts you can select with a $50 order). The party hat features one of the sequins (attached with a glue dot) and topped with a Pearl Basic Jewel. Here’s a closer look:
I tied several layers of Metallic Baker’s Twine through the opening of the two tags (can we talk about how incredible these tags are?!). Here’s a look at this great Sale-a-Bration option: 
- Party Colors. I pulled the colors for my card straight from the Birthday Bonanza Designer Series Papers. How incredible are they together?! If you like this mix of Daffodil Delight, Terracotta Tile and Bermuda Bay, please save this for future reference:

Oh my Brian – this is a “wake me up” card if I ever saw one. Love the tags for sure. I also really love the flag die in this set. Yes, I know you didn’t use it but I just wanted to let you know I really like it. LOL

Thank you for starting my day with a smile! I did place the toucan on a circle and used the balloon for a background. But it needed something more to tie it together. Well, you solved my problem with all those wonderful layers. I think the SAB twine and sequins really added to it too with just the little bit of sparkle. So cute and the toucan is my favorite.

Such a fun card. I love how Stampin’ Up!’s color families can do a primary color relationship with a softer twist and still make it celebratory. This card makes me want to party for sure!!
