Hello Sunshine with a Pleased As Punch Herringbone Pattern

Yesterday started with a frigid winter morning and progressed into a gorgeous Spring afternoon. That’s when I decided I would be making a bright-and-cheery card with the Pleased as Punch Designer Series Paper. While I have showcased this striped paper twice already, I opted for a new look by creating a herringbone pattern with the pieces. Here’s my card:

  • Pleased as Punch with this Herringbone Pattern. I just love the colors in the Pleased as Punch Designer Series Paper, a Product Coordination Release item that coordinates with punches from the January – June 2020 Mini Catalog and Sale-a-Bration brochure (Umbrella Builder, Heart Punch Pack, Tulip Builder Punch and Small Bloom Punch). How fun is that?! Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Pleased as Punch Designer Series Paper:Pleased as Punch Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up! 153558To create a herringbone pattern, I cut the paper into strips of three colors. I glued one strip diagonally down the middle of a piece of Whisper White cardstock and then added another strip at a 90 degree angle along that strip. I glued stripes at a 90 degree angle along those stripes and so on. • Three Products. The simple sentiment on the front of my card is built with two stamp sets and framed with a great, new die. The sunshine rays, stamped with Daffodil Delight, are from the Rise & Shine stamp set, a new Sale-a-Bration selection with a $100 order. Here’s a look at this brilliant, new stamp set:Rise & Shine,Rise & Shine, Stampin Up!, 152303The “Hello Sunshine” sentiment is from Under My Umbrella. Since the Umbrella Builder Punch coordinates with the Pleased as Punch Designer Series Paper, you might as well save 10% by getting both together: Under My Umbrella Bundle, Stampin Up! 153786The sentiment was cropped with a circle from the Stitched Layers Dies and framed with a wispy die from the Painted Labels Dies, part of the Painted Poppies Bundle: Painted Poppies Bundle, Stampin' Up! 153827
  • Gorgeous Color Combination. While there are a lot of great colors on this card (thanks, in part, to the gorgeous tones of the Pleased as Punch Designer Series Paper), it’s the combination of bright yellow, bright green and deep blue that stand out the most in the design. If you like this combination of Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green and Night of Navy, please save this for future reference: Stampin Up! 7. Yikes stripes! This is gorgeous! I have this paper and wasn’t too keen on the flower side so thought I needed to make something special with the stripes. Well, I will give it a whirl soon on trying your technique. So much fun. Yesterday it was a windy, rainy and yucky gray day but today we have sun and warmth in the air. Amazing what a little sunshine will do. Even the fun ones on the computer is making me smile! Thanks Brian!
