Merry & Bright for CTS383

Donna Mikasa’s design for this week’s CAS(E) This Sketch challenge gave me all the inspiration I needed to finally pull out my Peace & Joy Bundle, a new bundle in Stampin’ Up!’s August – December 2020 Mini Catalog that’s sure to be a hit! As I tip-toe into Christmas cards, here’s my card for this week’s challenge:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Peace & Joy Bundle. One of the standouts in Stampin’ Up!’s August – December 2020 Mini Catalog is the Peace & Joy Bundle – while you can stamp three big words (bright, peace and joy) and crop them with coordinating layering dies, you can also crop them without the stamps. The building dies layer together beautifully for a fun, festive sentiment. Here’s a look at the Peace & Joy Bundle, which is made up of the Peace & Joy stamp set and coordinating Joy Dies:Peace & Joy Bundle, Stampin Up! 155167For my card, I cropped all three layers with the Joy Dies – I backed the thinnest layer with Adhesive Sheets to easily layer it on the Pear Pizzazz layer. I popped that layer up with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals against the Thick Whisper White layer. How cool is that?! Peace & Joy Bundle, Stampin Up!, Brian King
  • Starry Elements. The pages I selected from the Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper have a retro- appeal. I adore the mix of circles, stars and fun shapes in this pack of papers. Donna’s sketch features three starbursts, making the sketch perfect for a fun, summery card. I wasn’t going to let that stop me from making a card that is jam-packed with Christmas embellishments. Here’s a closer look at how I tied this card to this week’s star-filled sketch:Peace & Joy Bundle, Stampin Up!, Brian King This starry shape that worked perfectly with my card was pulled from the Good Morning Magnolia Bundle – it’s the floral center from the coordinating dies. I added a clear embellishment from the Frosted & Clear Epoxy Droplets found in the Annual Catalog. How festive! How fun! Here’s a look:Good Morning Magnolia Bundle, Stampin' Up! 151087Did you know that this bundle is still offered with bundled pricing in the new Annual Catalog? That means you save 10% when you buy both of them together.
  • Festive Color Combination. The colors on my card are pulled from the Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper, new in Stampin’ Up!’s August – December 2020 Mini Catalog. I love these patterns – while they are perfect for Christmas, many of them can be used throughout the year.
