SNEAK PEEK: Dragonfly Garden Bundle

Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators enjoyed a wonderful OnStage@Home this weekend, Stampin’ Up!’s convention to share inspiration and new projects from the comfort of our own home. Due to the pandemic, we got together virtually – and the content was just as exciting and inspiring. So many amazing products to share with you in the coming months as we lead up to January. Woo hoo!

On Sunday, Julie DiMatteo and I hosted a OnStage@Home After Party for our team members who participated in the event over the weekend, allowing us to extend the fun of OnStage for another day. As part of the event, I encouraged team members to make and share a card inspired by sketch I created. Here’s my card (I used some new products I’m sharing with you today):

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Dragonfly Garden. My card features some elements of a new bundle we were able to order prior to the OnStage@Home event. I couldn’t be happier with the products we received, and I’ll be excited to share them with you in the coming months (while still sharing lots of inspiration for the Holidays). Here’s a sneak peek look at the new bundle I used to build this card: Dragonfly Garden Bundle, Stampin Up!The new product will be available to customers starting in January with the release of Stampin’ Up!’s January – June 2021 Mini Catalog. If you really, really want it, you can join my team to purchase this in December. ♥ Here’s a closer look at the elements on this card: Dragonfly Garden Bundle, Stampin' Up!, Brian King
  • Dandy Garden Designer Series Paper. The gorgeous background and the dragonfly on my card are pulled from a new pack of papers – the Dandy Garden 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (also available in the January – June 2021 Mini Catalog). Before I glued down the Bumblebee oval on the front of my card, I snapped this picture of the card base: Dandy Garden Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up!, Brian KingThese background is made up of two pages from the Dandy Garden 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. While the same images are printed on both pages, one is colored with a blue background and the other with a white background. I simply lined up the two and cropped out the middle of the one with a white background. I glued it down on the piece with the blue background so that the patterns matched perfectly.
  • Color Combination. All of the colors I used on this card are pulled right from the Dandy Garden 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. While these colors would look great for nearly any occasion, they are particularly wonderful with the dandelion images. If you like this mix of Bumblebee, Misty Moonlight and Mossy Meadow as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference: Stampin Up! 1. Great job with the sketch, using the two tone DSPs and upcoming dragonfly bundle!

    • Thank you so much, Stella! It’s almost like this sketch was designed for this paper (even though I designed it before studying the new products). So glad you like it! I appreciate you! ♥

  2. Love how you created color blocking with the two designer series paper patterns!

  3. LOVE your take on this sketch……It’s the PERFECT card for warming us up here in AZ (been kind of cold here!).

  4. Beautiful card with a great technique using Designer paper.

  5. Very visually effective and smart, that’s a good trick!
Thx for sharing your talent Brian

  6. Gorgeous card today Brian (as usual) and any combination of blue/yellow has always appealed to me. I think you should sit down and
write an “ode to the dragonfly” to go with your card. They are such beautiful beings with their translucent wings.

    • Aren’t they beautiful, Grace?! You can’t really see it in any of my pictures, but I added Wink of Stella to the wings to add a shine that’s a nod to the translucent wings. So glad you like it! ♥

  7. Oh my fried , I really really love this one , can’t wait to order it ♥️
    Tfs hugs Frenchie ♥️

  8. You are a DSP genius – what a great idea to combine the two similar designs! Beautifully done!

  9. I can only echo the comments above about this design~brilliant, DSP genius, visually effective, smart. (Sorry, folks, to “CASE” your remarks, but they are all so spot on). This sketch and its interpretation are perfect. I have a new appreciation of some of that DSP now, too. Thanks as ever for the inspiration!

  10. Great job with this layout and using the Dragonfly suite!

  11. Very clever how you married the two DSP sheets together. I love the color combo and your card is lovely. Enjoy your day!
