Today’s card, based on a simple sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch, combines two floral stamp sets that have always been in my periphery. I know they are there, and I reach for them a lot (because they’re gorgeous), but I usually end up making a card with something else. I’m not a flowery person (that must be the reason), but these flowers are really gorgeous. Here’s my card:
And here’s the banner for the challenge that inspired my card:
Tips, Tricks and Reminders
- Two Floral Sets. As I mentioned above, I don’t use flowers a lot, but I’m really drawn to the gorgeous layers of flowers in the All Things Fabulous stamp set – the sentiments in the set are pretty great, too! Not only can you layer three stamps with differing colors to build gorgeous flowers, but you can crop them out, too! Endless options with this gorgeous set! Here’s a closer look at the All Things Fabulous Bundle:
And don’ miss that large, lacy die! Such a beauty! The “Let’s Celebrate You” sentiment on my card is pulled from another floral stamp set – Bloom & Grow. Here’s a look at the sentiments and images in this wonderful set:
The Bloom & Grow stamp set coordinates with the Budding Blooms Dies.
- Building the Bloom. I was all set to build a beautiful, blue flower on today’s card. For whatever reason, I’ve been using a lot of blue in my projects lately. Anyhow, as I was studying the samples in the catalog, I was struck by how beautiful the flower was when stamped in yellow. I loved it so much that I used those colors to build my flower:
The image is comprised of three stamps that build on one another. The base of the flower was stamped with So Saffron. The next layer was stamped with Daffodil Delight. The top layer was stamped with Crushed Curry. Together, it looks like I’m an amazing water coloring artist. Love that!
- Two Color Combinations. My card features two color combination I love – the three colors in the flower and the three featured colors on the card. If you like this mix of So Saffron, Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry (used to create the flower), I hope you’ll save this:
If you like this mix of So Saffron, Seaside Spray and Night of Navy, feel free to save this for future reference:

That flower makes this card a real showstopper! Beautiful!
Oh So PRETTY my friend.
Beautiful card, Brian. Love it! Enjoy your day!
I love a yellow and blue color combo! Gorgeous card esp with the textured background!
I really like the look of multiple stamping sets. I know you start with light and go to dark ink wise but I’m never quite sure which stamp goes in each stamping cycle. It would help a lot if companies numbered the stamps in the order they should be used. Just a suggestion. I’d like my finished product to look as gorgeous as what is on your card today. Today’s card would be so uplifting for anyone celebrating their birthday alone, especially during these difficult times. Love it Brian.
I love blue and yellow! Genius interpretation of the sketch!
This illustrates how a single bloom can add so much punch to a card. Lovely! Super job photographing tasteful textile, so classy.
Love how you raised the flower…such a beautiful card Brian!
