Be Inspired for the Holidays

It’s time for another Be Inspired Design Team Blog Hop – what fun! The Be Inspired Design Team is a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from all over the world who are excited to share our themed projects with you. I’m so honored to be a part of this group of talented stampers!

For today’s Be Inspired Blog Hop, we are sharing Stampin’ Up! projects we’ve created for the Holidays. My project today features a poinsettia and a few items from the Quite Curvy Variety Bundle. If you aren’t starting the hop here, then you probably just popped over from the amazing project shared by my talented friend Carolynn Sander.

Quite Curvy Meets Poinsettia Place

I love to build Christmas cards with non-traditional colors. Since the Poinsettia Place Designer Series Paper features some designs with Whisper White poinsettias, I knew I wanted to create a holiday card with colors you don’t always think of for the Holidays. Here’s my sweet-and-simple card:

Curvy Christmas, Curvy Dies, Poinsettia Dies, Stampin Up!, Brian KingThe Poinsettia Place Designer Series Paper is filled with beautiful pages and natural colors that make it perfect for so many Fall-themed or Christmas-themed cards. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in this pack of Designer Series Papers: Poinsettia Place Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up! 153487Beautiful, right?! Two of these pages are featured on the front of my card (the poinsettias on the bottom, left corner and the pine cones on the bottom, right corner). The page in the bottom, left corner in the picture above features some flowers that can be cropped with the Poinsettia Dies, part of the Poinsettia Petals Bundle. In total, you can crop eight of these flowers with one pack of papers. Here’s a look at the Poinsettia Petals Bundle:

Poinsettia Petals Bundle, Stampin Up! 155148Since the Designer Series Paper is so thin (and will likely wrinkle in transit), so I doubled it up! After I cropped the poinsettia from the Poinsettia Place Designer Series Paper, I cropped the same shape from a piece of Whisper White cardstock and glued the two together. That’s one of the benefits of having dies that crop the exact same shape every time.

My use of the Poinsettia Petals Bundle didn’t stop with the cropped poinsettia on the front of the card – oh, no! I also used the stamp set to create a beautiful inside for the project (I stamped the sentiment with Early Espresso ink and the flower with a light coat of So Saffron):

Curvy Christmas, Curvy Dies, Poinsettia Dies, Stampin Up!, Brian KingWhile we are talking about the sweet sentiment on the inside of the card, let’s chat about the simple “Merry Christmas” on the outside of the card. Want a refresher of what’s on the front? How about this:

Curvy Christmas, Curvy Dies, Poinsettia Dies, Stampin Up!, Brian KingThat sentiment – and the curved shape on the front of the card – are from the Quite Curvy Variety Bundle, which includes the Quite Curvy stamp set, Curvy Christmas stamp set, Curvy Dies and the Classic Christmas 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. Here’s a look at this limited-time variety bundle:

Quite Curvy Variety Bundle, Stampin Up! 158396While the Quite Curvy stamp set and Curvy Dies will be offered in Stampin’ Up!’s January – June 2021 Mini Catalog, the Curvy Christmas stamp set (which also works wonderfully with the Curvy Dies) and the gorgeous Classic Christmas 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper will only be offered until January 4.

This mix of So Saffron, Soft Suede and Early Espresso isn’t likely at the top of your list of color combinations you expect to see in a Christmas card. I didn’t expect to love this mix of warm tones as much as I do, but I do. If you like the mix as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:
