Be Inspired by Sale-a-Bration 2021

It’s time for another Be Inspired Design Team Blog Hop – what fun! The Be Inspired Design Team is a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from all over the world who are excited to share our themed projects with you. I’m so honored to be a part of this group of talented stampers!

For today’s Be Inspired Blog Hop, we are sharing products in Sale-a-Bration that have inspired us – and we hope they inspire you, too! Sale-a-Bration is Stampin’ Up!’s big two month event (this year’s event is in January and February with another Sale-a-Bration period later in the year) when we can earn exclusive products when we shop for the things we love. How fun is that?! If you aren’t starting the hop here, then you probably just popped over from the amazing project shared by my talented friend Carolynn Sander.

I’m Sorry

For this Inspired by Sale-a-Bration challenge, I’ve decided to showcase THREE products that can be earned in January and February as a part of Stampin’ Up!’s Sale-a-Bration event. Can you name all three? Here’s my card:

Darling Donkeys, Punch Party, Back on Your Feet, Stampin' Up!, Brian King

The phrase “I’m sorry” can go several ways – especially when paired with this sweet donkey. While the front COULD BE interpreted as “I’m sorry I’ve been a [insert another word for donkey]” as an apology, this “I’m sorry” is for a friend who’s sick or sad. The adorable donkey has obviously fallen in the mud, and I’m wishing the recipient a quick recovery. Here’s the inside, which features a sentiment from the Back on Your Feet stamp set:

Now…to the Sale-a-Bration products I’ve showcased on this card…it just so happens that each of these three products is from one of the ways we can earn free product during Sale-a-Bration. How cool is that?!

Earn for Shopping. The Darling Donkeys stamp set can be selected as your free gift when you spend $50 (before shipping and handling) in the U.S. This adorable stamp set features donkeys in a variety of positions and some great sentiments that coordinate. Here’s a look at the Darling Donkey’s stamp set:

Darling Donkeys, Stampin Up!, 155264I stamped my donkey with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Thick Basic White cardstock and colored him with Smoky Slate and Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends. I hand-snipped him and then set him atop a “paint brushstroke” from the Beautiful Brushstrokes Dies (in the January – June 2021 Mini Catalog). I wanted it to look as though the donkey had slipped in the mud – it looks that way, right?!

Earn for Shopping Big. When you place an order for $300+ in the U.S. or combine orders with friends to total $300, you can earn the Punch Party photopolymer stamp set for free – that’s on top of all the other Sale-a-Bration products you earn. Yay! Here’s a look at this incredible stamp set:

Punch Party, Stampin Up! 155300I stamped “I’m sorry” with Memento Tuxedo Black on Thick Basic White and cropped it with one of the thin dies in the Always Dies, part of the Forever & Always Bundle. Such a sweet sentiment with so many purposes. I added three White Resin Hearts Embellishments to add some love to the sentiment (and to fill a small void on the cardfront).

That’s 200 sheets of paper!

Join Stampin Up!, Brian KingThe Soft Suede panel of Designer Series Paper behind my focal panel is from one of four patterns in this bundle of papers that’s your free gift when you join. Love it!

Sale-a-Bration Bonus. Back in 2017, one of the Sale-a-Bration favorites was a little stamp set called Hey Chick!. Starting February 2, Hey Chick will be available for purchase AND there are some great dies that coordinate with the fun set. I’ll be sharing more about the new chick-themed products this weekend, but I’ve given you a sneak peek at two of the dies on this project – I cropped the corn and chicken coop with the Chick Dies to add a little texture behind my fallen donkey.

Warm Color Combination. I wouldn’t normally pair browns and grays, but I mimicked the tones in my donkey for the rest of my card. His gray body and brown nose inspired me to build a card around those two colors. If you like this mix of Crumb Cake, Soft Suede and Basic Gray as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:
