When I purchased the Arrange a Wreath Bundle last Summer, I knew I’d love creating a sweet wreath for a Valentine’s Day project. I made wreaths for Thanksgiving and Christmas (and even made a spider-filled wreath for Halloween), but I was left to periodically remind myself to create something with this wreath for Valentine’s Day. I’ve been playing with a lot of new products from Stampin’ Up!’s January – June 2021 Mini Catalog, but I’ve finally gone back to make the wreath I’ve thought about so often over the past six months. Check! Here’s my card:
Tips, Tricks and Reminders
- Back to the Annual Catalog. While there are SO MANY great Valentine’s Day products in Stampin’ Up!’s January – June 2021 Mini Catalog, I reached back to Stampin’ Up!’s 2020 Annual Catalog to create this card. The bundle and Designer Series Paper, both from the Annual Catalog, gave me just what I needed for this sweet Valentine’s Day card. Here’s a look at the Arrange a Wreath Bundle I used to stamp my little hearts and to crop out my wreath and hearts. Here’s a look at the Arrange a Wreath Bundle that can be used for so many wonderful holidays: The beautiful Smoky Slate backdrop for my wreath looks like a textured stucco, but it’s a smooth piece of paper from the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper: If you’d like to flip through all 24 of the patterns in this pack of papers, CLICK HERE to see them in my online store.
- Shiny Heart. The four Blushing Bride hearts are stamped on Thick Whisper White and cropped with the Wreath Builder Dies that are part of the Arrange a Wreath Bundle. I used a favorite technique to build the larger Flirty Flamingo heart at the base of the wreath. Here’s a closer look: To build this heart:
- I adhered a strip of packing tape to a piece of Flirty Flamingo and the cropped that out with the large heart die.
- I repeated this step with Thick Basic White cardstock and carefully popped out the four letters.
- I layered small strips of masking tape across the back of the heart, allowing the sticky side to cover the letter openings (sticky side to the front of the die cut).
- I placed the Basic White letters inside the openings and secured them in the heart with the masking tape I had affixed across the back.
- Color Combination. It’s not often I showcase a color combination with four colors (I usually focus on three colors at a time), but this card mixes two tones of green and two tones of pink the work beautifully together. The base of my wreath and the base of my card feature Pear Pizzazz, which gives a warm base for the project. This sweet color combination is perfect for Valentine’s Day, but it can be used on so many other projects throughout the year. If you love this mix of Soft Sea Foam, Pear Pizzazz, Blushing Bride and Flirty Flamingo as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:

So pretty ! This wreath is just perfect for cards because it is not too big or bulky . Thanks to friend Suzie for my sample !! You really did a master job on that heart and I love all the step by step instructions !
Such a fun Valentine and so different !!
Marvelous texture and sweet hearts.
Brian, I love this wreath. I have a customer who is getting this set and I’m sending her a copy of this post to give her some more ideas of how to use her new purchase. I love the colors and the “Love” heart. Thanks for your tips. Enjoy your day!
This is so pretty! And that masking tape idea is perfect !
WOW my friend…….What can I say about this wreath……GORGEOUS!!!!!
I LOVE the technique you used to build the larger Flirty Flamingo heart at the base of your wreath. Helped to KNOCK this card OUT OF THE PARK.
This is beautiful. The colors caught my eye immediately. So, the heart – the shine is from packing tape and the letters are adhered with masking tape? Clever!
I cannot stop looking at this gorgeous card!
Oh, Brian, this card is so beautiful, I love the wreath with all the little hearts hanging on it but that big heart …..WOW!! When I saw it first I thought you heat emboss it, who knew a simple packing tape could look so fabulous!!
And I love how you cut the LOVE word too, totally clever.
Thank you for sharing.
Stay healthy and safe.
Hugs.
Very clever with that shiny heart! Sweet card and thanks for reminding me about the hearts in this set/dies…I had forgot about them!
Beautiful card. Great showcase for wreaths are not just for Christmas. Love the larger heart. The shine from the packing tape is awesome. I am going to file that idea for future use.
All of the elements add up to one beautiful card!
Aren’t you the clever one!! I absolutely love this technique and will try it out on my next card. Thanks for the inspiration.
The Arrange A Wreath bundle is probably the most versatile set I own. Wreaths are fabulous for any occasion from new baby to sympathy cards. I had totally forgotten about the masking tape “trick” which brought your card for today from beautiful to fabulous. Thanks for the reminder. Love it!
Clever card today Brian! Love the technique you used with the heart. Great color combinations too!
What a wonderful and beautiful card Brian with those beautiful colours.
