I was playing around with my Arrange a Wreath Bundle for the project I shared yesterday (if you missed my Valentine’s Day wreath card, you can see it here), but I didn’t get to use the super-fun “Happy Heart Day” sentiment on the project. I love that sentiment, so I did what any card maker would do – I made another project to showcase it. Here’s my card:
Tips, Tricks and Reminders
- Two New. My Valentine’s Day card features a mix of products from Stampin’ Up!’s 2020 Annual Catalog and the January – June 2021 Mini Catalog. Let’s look at the goodies from the new catalog – yay! I adore the mix of hearts in the Lots of Hearts Bundle, so I should have been prepared for the thin outline of a heart created by one of the dies. I thought I was cutting out a heart, but I cut out a heart AND a thin border around it. Score! I then cut out two hearts (and two thin borders) to build this card. Here’s a look at the Lots of Heart Bundle:
Here’s a closer look at these hearts:
The sentiment, stamped with the Arrange a Wreath stamp set, is cropped with the Double Oval Punch, also new in Stampin’ Up!’s January – June 2021 Mini Catalog. Here’s a look at this incredible punch:
- Repeating Yesterday. The two products I used from Stampin’ Up!’s 2020 Annual Catalog were also used on yesterday’s project – I had them out and wasn’t done playing. Here’s a look at the Arrange a Wreath Bundle:
I’ve never been interested in the stucco Rococo Rose page in the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper, but I’ve started to really love Rococo Rose as it’s featured in more and more papers and products. As I passed through this paper the other day, I knew I wanted to play with this gorgeous paper – things change. Here’s a look at the gorgeous patterns and colors in the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper:
- Rococo Rose. As I mentioned above, I’ve never been over-the-moon about Rococo Rose. As this color will likely retire later this year, though, I’m starting to realize how much I love it. It might help that Stampin’ Up! has featured Rococo Rose in Designer Papers from the January – June 2021 Mini Catalog and 2021 Sale-a-Bration brochure.
This muted pink once reminded me of something I’d see on The Golden Girls or in the wallpaper at an old hotel. I’m really growing to love it now and can see how sophisticated it is. This always seems to happen to me – I had no real interest until it’s on its way out the door. I guess I’ll love it while it’s still here. ♥

Brian, the illusion of texture that this DSP gives to your cards is amazing and the color on this one is just perfect as a background for your hearts.
Love the font on your sentiment too, the matching colors look fabulous.
Thank you for sharing.
Stay healthy and safe.
Hugs.
Maria.
I adore how you are using the embossing folder with these faux painted designer papers. Luscious texture. Sweet hearts!
Love the big hearts! I also love that you used this paper for the background…it adds so much texture! I have used a little but I have to stop hoarding it!
You have STOLEN my heart with this card Brian. WOW!!!
I love your backstory of how you made this beautiful card. You made me smile. Have a great day!
Such a beautiful card. I need to revisit that dsp. The Lots of Heart bundle is so versatile.
Rococo Rose is such a soft and amazing color. I’m so glad you featured it today as I had actually forgotten all about it. Yes it’s in my file of cardstock and yes I love the color but sometimes when a color is soft it gets overwhelmed by the bright colors. Thanks for this beautiful card Brian and for reminding me to pay more attention to it.
WOW! Love this card. I have one more Valentine to make and will probably CASe this one. Thanks for the inspiration!
So cute! That’s a great sentiment and I love rococo Rose for Valentines!
Love the heart card Brian!
