You Make My Heart Happy with Punch Party

Happy Valentine’s Day! There’s no better way to say “I love you” than the confirmation that you make my heart happy. I love this sentiment from Punch Party (more on this great set later in this post), and I couldn’t wait to showcase it over and over and over on the Valentine’s Day card I’m sharing today. Here’s my card:

Punch Party, Stampin Up!, Brian King

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Overstamping. To create a fun background on this card, I stamped the sentiment over and over and over in Petal Pink to achieve an abstract, textured backdrop for the focal sentiment and heart. I inked up the sentiment stamp with Petal Pink every time I stamped it down to give a consistent depth for each. This technique can feel like a mess at first – but there’s beauty in that mess, and it gets more beautiful as you continue stamping.  I’ve coined this technique a “overstamping,” but it might have other names. It’s something I pull out every once in while – and it’s a great way to get a week’s “stamping fix” in just a matter of minutes. Here’s a closer look at my overstamped background:      Punch Party, Stampin Up!, Brian KingAfter stamping the sentiment over and over, the recipient likely can’t tell what the original sentiment was – that’s what makes this technique so fun for me.
  • Punch Party. When you combine orders with friends or place an order over $300 during Sale-a-Bration (between January 5 and February 28), you can earn an exclusive stamp set that’s pretty wonderful! This super-fun stamp set coordinates with three of our favorite punches – Double Oval Punch (#154242), Rectangular Postage Stamp Punch (#152709) and Heart Punch Pack (#151292). Here’s a look at the images and sentiments in the Punch Party stamp set: Punch Party, Stampin Up! 155300 This stamp set give us some great ways to say thanks, sorry, get well, love you and more, but “you make my heart happy” is a really great one for today. This stamp set goes away on February 28. If you need help pulling together a $300 order, please reach out to me – I’m happy to help. ♥
  • Color Combination. My Valentine’s Day card is essentially Petal Pink with a couple pops of Calypso Coral. With all the pinks and reds in Stampin’ Up!’s lineup (Real Red, Cherry Cobbler, Blushing Bride, Magenta Madness, Poppy Parade), pale pink and coral might not be at the top of your list, but these colors look great together – don’t you think? If you like this mix of Basic White, Petal Pink and Calypso Coral as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference: Stampin Up!
