Close at Heart with Butterfly Bijou

It’s no surprise I’m working with products from the Butterfly Bouquet Collection again today. There’s something so great about new products that’s made better when those new products are amazing! Today’s card is quite simple with a simple technique to add depth to any of your projects. Here’s my sweet butterfly card:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Butterfly Bouquet – Now Available. Stampin’ Up! introduced us to the Butterfly Bouquet Collection yesterday. The collection is filled to the brim with gorgeous butterflies for every occasion. While some of the products will appear in the upcoming 2021 Annual Catalog (the Butterfly Brilliance Cling Stamp Set and Brilliant Wings Dies), others are only available during this limited-time promotion. To see all of the products in this new promotion, click on the image below:I cropped my Misty Moonlight and Bermuda Bay butterfly from the Butterfly Bijou 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper with the coordinating Brilliant Wings Dies. • Soft Backdrop. I created a soft So Saffron pattern on the Thick Basic White panel at the center of my card, a perfect resting place for the beautiful butterfly. Here’s a closer look: Well Said, Dandy Laser-Cut Paper, Stampin Up!, Brian KingI used one of the patterns from the Dandy Laser-Cut Paper and a Blending Brush to create this sweet pattern. I taped down the cardstock and laser-cut panel with Post-It tape to hold it in place. I added ink to my Blending Brush and swirled it over the pattern to create this pattern beneath. • Color Combination. I pulled all three of the colors in this card from the Butterfly Bijou 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. Together they are a sweet and beautiful combination of blues and yellow. If you like this mix of So Saffron, Bermuda Bay and Misty Moonlight as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference: Stampin Up! 2. Wow! Brian, I love this beautiful card and your use of laser-cut paper as a stencil. Very clever. The card is lovely with very little work. Enjoy your day!

  3. Today’s card is as beautiful as any butterfly I’ve seen. When you say one large die does that mean both the background die and the delicate butterfly ones are also only a single die?
