On My Mind with Soft Succulents

Back in Stock!

When products are really popular, the can sell at rates higher than anyone expected, depleting inventory levels and causing the products to go on backorder (or become unorderable). Before I share today’s project, I am excited to share that two of our favorites from Stampin’ Up!’s January – June 2021 Mini Catalog are back in stock:

The Strawberry Builder Punch (another popular punch from the January – June 2021 Mini Catalog is not yet back in stock, but I’ll keep you posted. ♥

Today I’m sharing a card I’ve made with the Simply Succulents Bundle, new in Stampin’ Up!’s January – June 2021 Mini Catalog. Not only are there are some great images in this stamp set, but there are some great sentiments – and the dies are quite amazing. Here’s a card I’ve create in all neutral tones:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Simply Succulent. The succulents in this large image are just beautiful. Rather than color them in (that’s so much work!), I let the image just stand on its own. I stamped these succulents with Mossy Meadow and cropped them with the coordinating Potted Succulents Dies. Here’s a look at this gorgeous bundle: Simply Succulents Bundle, Stampin Up!, 156264I stamped the “You’ve been on my mind” sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Sahara Sand cardstock and cropped it with the Potted Succulents Dies.
  • That’s Not an Embossing Folder. Did I mention there are wonderful dies in the Potted Succulents Dies? I’m pretty sure I did. Not only are there some great shapes to crop your stamped images or crop out other succulents, but there are five incredible stitched frames for a variety of sentiments. And…then…there’s that beautiful, large panel of succulents at the heart of this set of dies. I applied an Adhesive Sheet to a piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock and cropped this detailed die. I peeled away the adhesive sheet, applied the cutout to another sheet of Mossy Meadow and the cut the panel with a guillotine trimmer for a clean cut around all the edges. • Color Combination. While I used a gorgeous mix of neutral tones on my card today, I recreated multiple times in the retiring 2019-2021 In Colors ans Smoky Slate for a card swap I participated in with my InKing Royalty Team. Here’s how that turned out:Simply Succulents Bundle, Stampin Up!, Brian KingIf you like the mix of Very Vanilla, Sahara Sand and Mossy Meadow I used on today’s card, I hope you will save this for future reference: Stampin Up! 1. Love the texture background for these cards. The new Soft Succulent(which I will misspell all the time) will be pretty with this set.

  2. Really pretty card and a great enabler for that bundle!

  3. I DID think you had used an embossing folder for the background! You fooled me again Brian! Maybe you should have posted this card yesterday on April Fool’s Day. Great card! LOL

  4. Love your clever idea of embossing using the large die. So pretty for this sweet card in the retiring In Colors. Enjoy your day!

  5. Once again, a winner! I have yet to use this bundle…I know, what’s wrong with me? Not enough time I guess. Thanks for sharing your beautiful card Brian.
