As soon as I saw this week’s sketch at Freshly Made Sketches (a large curve along one side of the sketch), I knew I’d be using the Basic Borders Dies to build a sweet card. As I reached for the All About Baby Bundle to add some sweet baby clothes to my card, I realized, I had the curved shape right in front of me. That’s when the Basic Borders Dies moved to the back of my craft desk (I’ll be using them soon) to make way for the clothesline from the stamp set. Here’s my card:
I flipped Jacquie Southa’s sketch on it’s side and inverted the arc, but the inspiration is still there. Here’s the banner for Jacquie’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge that inspired my card: Tips, Tricks and Reminders
- All About Baby Bundle. The word bundle brings two things to mind – babies and discounted stamp/punch or stamp/dies collections. Fortunately, I get both with the All for Baby Bundle I used on today’s project. Here’s a look at this bundle, which includes the All for Baby stamp set and coordinating Baby Clothes Dies: There are so many adorable elements in this set – the teddy bear (not used here) is super-cute, but look at these onesies and jumpers and all the elements you can use to embellish them. And…look at the tiny clothes hangers and clothespins. How cute are they?! And all four of the sentiments in the stamp set are pretty great!
- Decorating the Onesies. Not only can you stamp cute onesies with this Distinktive stamp set, but there are so many great ways to embellish those onesies. Here’s a closer look at the onesies and jumper I showcase on the front of my card: I added a little stamped/cropped bow to my Pale Papaya onesie, a Highland Heather flower (cropped with the star die in the set) and a blue pocket that I stamped and cropped with the elements of this bundle. The pockets can be added to the hips of the jumpers, too! There’s also a little rainbow and a heart in the set. So cute!
- Color Combination. The focal panel on my card is mounted on a Fresh Freesia gingham piece of Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper – while Fresh Freesia isn’t represented anywhere else on the card, the pale purple looks great with the shades of Highland Heather on the jumper at the center of the top panel. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper: The gingham patterns in this pack of papers are Soft Succulent, Pale Papaya and Fresh Freesia (three of Stampin’ Up!’s 2021-2023 In Colors). If you like the mix of Pale Papaya, Highland Heather and Balmy Blue used on this card, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:
Bundles: All for Baby Stamp Sets: All for Baby Papers: Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper, Highland Heather, Crumb Cake, Thick Basic White Inks: Highland Heather, Pale Papaya, Balmy Blue, Memento Tuxedo Black Accessories: Baby Clothes Dies, Pearl Basic Jewels, Stampin’ Dimensionals
I hope you’ll pop over to the Freshly Made Sketches site to see the cards by the design team members and to play along with this week’s challenge.
Thanks for stopping by today!
Brian

Oh my goodness, Brian, you couldn’t make this card more adorable or more beautiful if you tried!!
The colors you used and those little outfits are perfect for a baby card.
I love how you turn the sketch, you clever thing you.
Thank you for sharing.
Stay healthy and safe.

Thank you so much, Maria! These jumpers and onesies are adorable – I couldn’t have made them NOT cute. 🙂 Thanks, my friend! ♥
Each onesie with it’s own pop of personality. Cute!
Thanks, Mary! That’s one of the things I love about this bundle – personalizing each of the onesies. ♥
Very cute card! Love the colors.
Thanks, Rene! The set is adorable and showcases the colors so well.
I love your take on the sketch and the adorable onesies on a laundry line. Great job!! Enjoy your day!
Thank you so much, Hilda! 🙂 Hope your day is wonderful!
Adorable card! And who knew that paper would be so perfect for a baby card? Brilliant, my friend, brilliant!
Thanks, Dianne! I love the little gingham patterns – so easy to work with and came in handy for this card. ♥
Perfect for the gingham print and love how you thought of this for the sketch! Genius!
Thank you so much, Windy! It wasn’t what I started to make, but it ended up there. 🙂
This is the cutest baby card I have ever seen. No kidding Brian – you can almost smell that baby smell (the nice one not the dirty diaper one) when looking at those onesies! LOL The little cloths pins and tiny onesie decorations really bring the card to a higher level. Can you tell I love this one?
I have a feeling you like this card, Grace! I’m not sure what gives you away. 🙂 Thanks, my friend. I feel the same – the onesies are such fun to make. So glad you like it (at least I think you do). ♥
I LOVE IT when the crafting supplies (tools) on my desk move from front to back…….and in the end it all works out. This was a meant-to-be kind of card. And by the way……your card is ADORABLE.
Thank you so much, Kadie! If I put something on the back of the desk, I intend to soon use it. Otherwise, it goes back on the shelf. I might spend more time cleaning off the desk than creating…maybe.
The clothesline is a great element of the sketch! Adorable card!
Thanks, Linda! ♥
Your clothes line really made me smile, Brian! What a fun way to add the curved edge. Thanks for playing along with us at FMS this week.
Thank you so much, Jacque! I’m so happy you like it – it’s a fun challenge. ♥
I just love this soft baby card. Your take on the sketch is fabulous! Never would I have ever thought of that.
Well isn’t this the cutest card! I love the sweet patterns and colors. Thanks for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches!
