I’m sharing a super-simple design with you today on a collection of note cards I made a couple of weeks ago. Even though I was making a lot of these little cards, I wanted them to be special so the simple design took me a little more time than I expected, but I enjoyed making them. Here’s my card:
The card showcases two images from the new Iconic Dies, a standalone set of dies in Stampin’ Up!’s 2021 Annual Catalog (they aren’t designed to coordinate with a specific stamp set in the new catalog). Along with a collection of flowers and this fun bumblebee, there are also mushrooms, a bird, a branch and some greenery elements. These images are definitely iconic. Here’s a look at the Iconic Dies:

On a piece of cardstock I cut to the shape of the note card, I cropped a circle with my Layering Circles Dies. I wiped my Blending Brush into Pool Party ink and then added blue ink to the circle cutout, moving the brush in a circular pattern. What an easy way to add an accent to the card and give a foundation for my flower and bumblebee.
The sentiment on my card, which is perfect for a little note, is pulled from the Plentiful Plants stamp set, part of the Plentiful Plants Bundle. There are some beautiful plants in this bundle – and a great collection of thank you sentiments. Here’s a look at the Plentiful Plants Bundle:
If I were making one or two of this card, I would have no problems applying adhesive to the back of the flower and bee with Multipurpose Liquid Glue or a Fine-Tip Glue Pen. I was making a lot of them, though, and wanted to make sure that all of the pieces were fully adhered, so I reached for my Adhesive Sheets. Here’s a closer look at the flower and bee on my card:
I added adhesive sheets to the back of Calypso Coral and Bumblebee cardstock before running that cardstock through my Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with the Iconic Dies. These adhesive sheets are priceless!
Here’s a quick step-by-step tutorial I created two years ago (when Stampin’ Up!’ was still working with Sizzix products) that shows you how these Adhesive Sheets work:
The color combination on my simple cards is another lovely element of the cards – Pool Party and Calypso Coral were both new In Colors when I joined Stampin’ Up! and have since become a part of the color families. Bumblebee is a new In Color from last year. Together, this trio is quite wonderful. If you like this mix of Bumblebee, Calypso Coral and Pool party as much as I do, I hope you will save this for future reference:
Here are the products I used on these fun note cards:
Stamp Sets: Plentiful Plants Papers: Basic White Note Cards & Envelopes, Bumblebee, Calypso Coral Inks: Pool Party, Memento Tuxedo Black Accessories: Iconic Dies, Layering Circles Dies, Adhesive Sheets, Blending Brushes
I hope you like this simple design – these cards were fun to make. Thanks for stopping by today!
