With the extreme heat some folks are experiencing already this Summer, perhaps you are thinking I’m insensitive to make a card that sends sunshine. In my defense, I’ve substituted the blazing sun with a duo of sweet sunflowers. Those are pretty uplifting and appropriate, right? Here’s my sweet and simple card that pulls from three stamp sets:
Tips, Tricks and Reminders
- A Beautiful Brick Wall. The foundation of my cheer-inducing card is the beautiful brick wall that serves as a backdrop for my potted flowers. How can you not smile with these flowers juxtaposed against the Cinnamon Cider bricks? This panel of paper is cropped from the Bloom Where You’re Planted Designer Series Paper. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in this incredible pack of papers: The other “new in Stampin’ Up!’s 2021 Annual Catalog” product on my card is the sunshiny sentiment that I pulled from the Celebrate with Flowers stamp set. Here’s a look at this fun stamp set:While the sentiment is pulled from the Celebrate with Flowers stamp set, the flowers on the card are stamped with the Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set and cropped with the coordinating dies. Here are the other stars of this card (you can click on the items below to see them in my online store):
- Celebrate Sunflowers Cling Stamp Set (#152517)
- Sunflowers Dies (#152704)
- Simply Succulents Bundle – Retiring This Week. I didn’t want my sunflowers to just float in the center of my card (not that there’s anything wrong with that), so I planted them in a rustic tin I found in the Simply Succulents Bundle. Here’s a closer look at my duo of happy flowers:Here’s a look at the Simply Succulents Bundle, which includes the Simply Succulents stamp set and Potted Succulents Dies: While both the stamp set and coordinating dies have carried forward from Stampin’ Up!’s January – June 2021 Mini Catalog into the 2021 Annual Catalog, the bundled option (which gives you a 10% savings on both) goes away on Wednesday (the Mini Catalog retires on June 30). Don’t miss out!
- Color Combination. The Cinnamon Cider bricks are a wonderful foundation for my sunshiny flowers. I gave each flower a darker center with my Soft Suede Stampin’ Blends and wanted to repeat that darker brown on the base of my card. I love the mix of bright and warm tones in this combination. If you like the mix of Daffodil Delight, Cinnamon Cider and Soft Suede as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:
Bundles: Simply Succulents Stamp Sets: Celebrate Sunflowers, Celebrate with Flowers, Simply Succulents Papers: Bloom Where You’re Planted Designer Series Paper, Soft Suede, Thick Basic White, Basic White Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black, Stampin’ Blends (Daffodil Delight, Soft Suede, Granny Apple Green, Smoky Slate) Accessories: Sunflowers Dies, Potted Succulents Dies, Stampin’ Dimensionals
I hope your day is filled with sunshine (within reason). 🙂
Thanks for stopping by today!
Brian

The brick wall is the perfect backdrop for your sweet bucket of flowers! So cute!
Thanks, Linda! ♥
I thought on first look, you made that brick wall and was so impressed! Love the sunflowers in that pot…thanks for the inspiration!
Happy to share, Windy! I am glad you are so willing to be impressed. 🙂
Such a fun card today Brian! I really enjoy sunflowers and we have been fortunate enough to have them grow so big they are actually higher than the roof on our cabin. I really love the way you set your flowers into that bucket. You are such a clever boy, yes you are! LOL
Thank you so much, Grace. I originally had a big, tall stem with one flower on top, but I decided they were more happy in a cluster. Thanks! ♥
WOW my friend…..This card is PERFECT in every single way.
You are too kind. Thanks, Kadie! ♥
Beautiful!
♥ Thanks, Liz!
Perfectly SWEET card! Love the brick background and who doesn’t love flowers potted in a planter! LOVE IT!
Thank you so much, Tonya! I think this paper is gorgeous – glad you like the flowers, too. ♥
Such a sweet card, very welcoming and a lovely combination of products. After three days of record-breaking triple-digit temps we’re down to a manageable 88 degrees today. Thanks for thinking of us!
I can’t even imagine – y’all are not equipped for this. Grateful you have AC to help you get through these temps. ♥
Awwwww, my friend. What a beautiful card ♥️
Hugs Frenchie ♥️♥️♥️
Thank you, my friend! ♥
It’s not extreme heat over here…I’m freezing ! It’s cold and miserable here today and we are currently in lockdown, but this card made me smile and warmed my soul. I love your potted sunflowers against the brick wall, they just pop! Love you
So glad you like them, Louise! So nice to hear from you, my friend! ♥
