Hello Friend with Peekaboo Farm

It’s fun to make and share “just saying hi” cards – especially in these times we are living in. While some of us are starting to get out a little bit to see people outside of our households, not everyone is heading out into the world just yet. Peekaboo! This sweet pig is just popping in to say, “HELLO” – how sweet is she?! Here’s my card:

Biggest Wish, Peekaboo Farm, Stampin Up!, Brian KingThe focal panel on my card is inspired by the FabFriday sketch that goes live today. It might not be immediately evident, but the inspiration is there. Here’s the banner for the challenge that inspired my card:

  • Two New. This sweet big is peeking over two bold words to greet the recipient with a smile. Both the piggie and sentiment are stamped with two stamp sets that are new in Stampin’ Up!’s 2021 Annual Catalog. These stamp sets weren’t designed to work together, but I think they are perfect together. 🙂 Here’s a look at the incredible Biggest Wish photopolymer stamp set, one of my favorites in the new catalog: Biggest Wish, Stampin Up! 155052And here’s a look at the adorable collection of farm animals in the Peekaboo Farm photopolymer stamp set that are designed to peek over the stone wall in this stamp set – there’s a llama, a horse, a sheep, a pig, a cow and a songbird: Peekaboo Farm, Stampin Up!, 155683
  • A Creative Fix. When stamping my pig, I had the brilliant idea of stamping the pig with Flirty Flamingo ink and coloring her with the Light Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends Marker. The two colors were so similar that the pinks were hardly distinguishable. What to do?! Before I tossed the focal panel of my card to start over, I tied another approach (what did I have to lose?) – I stamped the outline of the pig with Memento Ink over the stamped and colored pig. Voila! That saved it! Here’s a closer look at this sweetie:Biggest Wish, Peekaboo Farm, Stampin Up!, Brian KingI gave the pig a stylish Daffodil Delight flower as a fun accent for the fun swine. The bright yellow flower ties with the background panel of Daffodil Delight from the Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper (one of several papers included in Stampin’ Up!’s current 15% off sale). • Color Combination. While there’s more Daffodil Delight on this card than any other color, it’s the trio of pink, green and blue that really set the tone for this sweet greeting. If you like this mix of Flirty Flamingo, Pear Pizzazz and Balmy Blue as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:  Stampin Up! 1. Awesome take on the sketch…happy with the colors!

  2. Once again you have melded two stamps sets SO PERFECTLY!! I always seem to have tunnel vision and stick with one stamp set – I need to put on my “Brian glasses” more often and look for these clever possibilities! Well done, Brian! Love today’s card😍 Have a great holiday weekend!🇺🇸

  3. What a fun “friend” card today, Brian. I did not get how your card was following the sketch until you pointed it out. Your creativity is on top of it. Enjoy your day!

    • This card makes me smile! Love that adorable piggy and her sweet yellow flower! Clever to put her peeking over the sentiment!

  5. Cuteness to the 100th degree! Loveit!

  6. Elisha S. put her finger on it: so many of us have tunnel vision and don’t see the opportunities to meld stamp sets. Patent those “Brian Vision” glasses, my friend! We should all pay closer attention!
Cute card from a stamp set that was not remotely on my radar. I cleaned off the lenses on MY glasses and am adding it to my order today. 😉
Have a safe and happy weekend~

  7. Giggle! Fun Swine (never heard those words together before), Brian glasses and an amazing take on the sketch! Those are my 3 favorite things today!

Pigtastic! Maybe I will find this cute piggy card in my mailbox since I think I have graced you with a pig card or two. After all, I am from Iowa (snort)! This is just to stinking cute and fun just like a pig rolling around in the mud! This is going to have to be my new calling/oinking card for seniors etc. Who wouldn’t think it wasn’t cute. I just am in HOG HEAVEN thinking about it! I don’t have that pig and animal set but maybe something in my stash will work. I know I do want that other set with the HELLO etc. Now, my question, were you thinking of Ann Schach, Beth McCullough, or me (I am sure there are others you know from Iowa or are you pig headed and not thinking of us?) while you made the card?

  9. Adorable little girl piggie ! I love the set with all the big words (haven`t gotten it yet )and you gave it personality with Petunia Pig !
    Cute card !!
