Here for You Now with Daisy Garden

I’m sharing a simple “thinking of you” card today that was really fun to make. The Daisy Garden background stamp set, new in Stampin’ Up!’s 2021 Annual Catalog, is a great set to build a quiet backdrop on a project, but I wanted to bring it to life a bit with Watercolor pencils and my Stamparatus. Here’s my card:

Daisy Garden, Color & Contour, Stampin Up!, Brian KingAside from Daisy Garden, can you name the other two products I used that are new in Stampin’ Up!’s 2021 Annual Catalog? I know you can, but I’m going to tell you anyway…

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Three New Products. I told you I was going to share all three of the new products I used on this card. Let’s start with Daisy Garden – what a beautiful showcase of these delicate flowers! Here’s a look at this background stamp:Daisy Garden, Stampin Up! 155079The beautiful sentiment on my card is from Color & Contour stamp set, part of the Color & Contour Bundle. The inside of this card finished the “here for you now” with  “and in better days ahead.” How sweet is that?! Here’s a look at this incredible bundle: Color & Contour Bundle, Stampin Up!, 158356I added some subtle texture behind my panel of daisies with the Bark 3D Embossing Folder – such a beauty! • Double-Stamping. I used my Stamparatus to stamp the background image of daisies on Crumb Cake cardstock with Early Espresso ink. I then color the flower petals with my White Watercolor Pencil and the flower centers with my Daffodil Delight Watercolor Pencil. The pencils dimmed the line on the flowers, lightly covering the original stamped image, so…after I had colored all the flowers, I placed the paper back in my Stamparatus and stamped the image again. Here’s a closer look:Daisy Garden, Color & Contour, Stampin Up!, Brian KingWhile I didn’t need the Stamparatus for my original ink impression, I needed it to perfectly accomplish the second stamping. Fun!
  • Warm Color Combination. It’s the white-on-Crumb Cake that makes the flowers so sweet, but it’s the combination of warm tones with a pop of sunshine that makes the card perfect for a “thinking of you” sentiment. I wasn’t going to add the yellow centers to the flowers at first, but I it’s the pop of yellow that I love so much when it was all done. If you like this mix of Daffodil Delight, Crumb Cake and Early Espresso as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:Stampin Up! No oopsey daisy here! I love this. White with crumb cake is always a favorite of mine. Did you do any embossing on the daisies or just the sentiment. I have seen where they emboss the image and then color but then not sure if you emboss again or what.

  14. I adore daisies! In fact, there were my wedding flowers WAY back in 1970 when I married my first hubs. Your coloring is amazing, and what a cool idea to re-stamp them. LOVE this! Such an adorable card, with a sweet sentiment.

  15. Love your card. : D
