It’s July, so there (officially) nothing wrong with jumping into Christmas. June – too early and requires an apology. July – perfectly acceptable and requires no explanation. I made a simple card with products from the Tidings of Christmas Suite in Stampin’ Up!’s 2021 Annual Catalog – paper, stamp set and dies – and used this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge as inspiration. Here’s my card:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders
- Bundle & Paper. In place of the three squares on Karren’s sketch, I cropped two stockings and a beautiful star with help from the Christmas Trimmings Dies and Tidings of Christmas 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. I cropped the stockings directly from the paper and added the cuff with the stamp set, dies and my handy paper snips. My card showcases three patterns from the Tidings of Christmas 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper – the two green panels that create the backdrop and the striped stockings are cropped from this gorgeous paper (which includes 48 sheets – 8 each of 6 double-sided designs). - Two More Things… There are two elements at the heart of this card I want to point out: the stockings and the layered star. Before I do, though, here’s a closer look at this trio of images that serve as the focal point of my card:
There’s only one stocking die in the Christmas Trimmings Dies. I cropped one from striped paper and another from the other side of the paper and flipped it over so I’d have a stocking that faces the other way. Yay! I cropped a star with from the Evening Evergreen pattern in the Tidings of Christmas 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. I cropped the detailed star from Soft Succulent cardstock with an adhesive sheet on the opposite side. The adhesive sheet made it easy for me to layer this detailed star over the larger star. - Rich Color Combination. I pulled the colors for my card straight from the Tidings of Christmas 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper – the mix of two greens from this year’s In Color collection, Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen, are amazing together. The addition of bright, traditional red is a perfect combination. If you like this mix of Soft Succulent, Evening Evergreen and Real Red as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:
