All Boxed Up with Clever Cats

Today and tomorrow are big days at Stampin’ Up! that give us great reasons to expect a brown box on our doorsteps in the near future. Today is the last day to take advantage of the Designer Series Paper Sale – 15% off select Designer Series Papers. Tomorrow is the launch of the July-December 2021 Mini Catalog and a two-month Sale-a-Bration. Yippee!

To celebrate the brown boxes that will soon be delivered, I’ve made a card with a cardboard box and an even bigger cat that fits perfectly inside. Here’s my card:

Here’s a look at the Clever Cats Stamp set, available tomorrow during the launch of Stampin’ Up!’s July-December 2021 Mini Catalog:

Clever Cats, Stampin Up! 156490While the set is designed as a Halloween set, these cats are versatile to be used throughout the year – my card isn’t particularly Halloween-themed despite the adorable black cat. ♥

The layers on my card are simple and came together easily – here are the layer measurements on my card, starting with the base of the card and working my way up the the cat:

  • Cinnamon Cider – 4-1/4″ x 11″ (scored at 5-1/2″)
  • Stampin’ Dimensionals
  • Basic Black – 3-3/4″ x 5″
  • Basic White – 3-5/8″ x 4-7/8″
  • Stampin’ Dimensionals
  • Basic Black – 3-1/4″ square
  • 2022-2022 In Color 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (Cinnamon Cider) – 3-1/8″ square
  • Stampin’ Dimensionals
  • Thick Basic White (cropped with Layering Circles Die)

I stamped the cat and outline of the box with Memento Tuxedo Black ink (see the image above) and then added the Cinnamon Cider color inside the box (see the image directly under the cat). Such an easy way to add a little color to the image. I carried both the Basic Black and Cinnamon Cider colors from the stamped image to the layers on my card – such a great color combination! If you like this mix of Basic White, Cinnamon Cider and Basic Black as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:

Isn’t this oversized cat in a tiny box adorable?! There’s a solution – make sure your order requires big, roomy boxes. šŸ™‚
