You already know how much I love Autumn. We might be bear-knuckling our way through the August heat right now, but it’s a consolation to know that cooler temperatures and crisp air are just around the corner. Yippee! My Gorgeous Leaves Bundle arrived last week, and I couldn’t wait to make a beautiful, simple card with it (it’s nearly impossible to mess things up with this incredible bundle). Here’s my Autumn-themed card:
Tips, Tricks and Reminders
- Two Must-Have Bundles. My card features three stamps and one die from the Gorgeous Leaves Bundle, new in Stampin’ Up!’s July-December 2021 Mini Catalog. I love my bundles that showcase beautiful leaves. It’s funny – we always think of leaves when Autumn rolls around and love their brilliant, rich colors during Fall. That said, these leaves would be perfectly gorgeous in vibrant greens at any time of the year. Here’s a look at the gorgeous images and dies in the Gorgeous Leaves Bundle:You are already going to get the Time of Giving Bundle because of the INCREDIBLE dies that are a part of it, so you’ll be happy to know the “Thankful” sentiment on my card comes from the Time of Giving stamp set that complete the bundle. Here’s a look:
- A Beautiful Background. The background on any card plays an important role in the beauty of your project. Whether it’s a clean, white background or a colorful pattern, the background should always be a supporting character to the star of the project. Not only did I use the beautiful wood grain image from Gorgeous Leaves stamp set to create an accent behind my leaf (the wood grain image is stamped just to the left of the center of the panel), but I also used the two watercolor spots stamps to build a speckled backdrop for my beautiful leaf. Here’s a closer look:I inked up the larger stamp with Crumb Cake, stamped off once and covered the panel with the water spot image. I think alternated between Early Espresso and Merry Merlot with the smaller image (I stamped those off once, too, before stamping onto this panel). I love the beautiful panel that peeks from behind the focal panel.
- Warm Neutrals. My card only features neutral tones that are perfect for Autumn – Crumb Cake and Early Espresso look great with accents of Merry Merlot, a rich red that’s not too red. If you like the warm mix of Crumb Cake, Early Espresso and Merry Merlot as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:
Bundles: Gorgeous Leaves Stamp Sets: Gorgeous Leaves, Time of Giving Papers: Crumb Cake, Merry Merlot, Thick Very Vanilla Inks: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Merry Merlot Accessories: Intricate Leaves Dies, Stitched Rectangles Dies, Stampin’ Dimensionals
I hope you like my simple card with warm tones and loads of gratitude.
