Trick or Treat with a Tombstone Treat Box

Halloween can be cute or elegant – I’m OK with a tad ghoulish, but it should never be scary. Today I’m sharing a project with a Tombstone Treat Bbox (kinda ghoulish), but I’ve filled it with candy (who hates candy?) and adorned it with a cute design and an elegant bow. Here’s a look at my treat box:

Tombstone Treat Box, Little Delights, Cute Halloween, Metallic Mesh, Stampin Up!, Brian KingThe Tombstone Treat Boxes are a fun way to give out candy this year – the right balance of a handmade craft with a generous portion of candy. The ONLY candies I have in the house right now are these sugar-free peanut butter cups. I would NEVER gift these to the kids (who don’t ever seem to stop by my house on Halloween), but they are in a bright orange package that pairs well with my Halloween project. Here’s a look at how four of these treats fit in the tombstone:

Just toss some candy or a little treat in the box, decorate and deliver. These are SO easy to put together but look like they took you FOREVER to make them. Who doesn’t like that kind of credit?! Here’s a look at these fun treat boxes:

Tombstone Treat Boxes, Stampin Up! 156486I adorned my gray tombstone with 1-1/2″ Metallic Mesh Ribbon (from last year’s Holiday Mini Catalog and included in this year’s Annual Catalog). The thick ribbon is REALLY easy to work with – even I was able to get a perfect bow on the first try. Here’s a look at my gorgeous bow:

  • Cute Halloween 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper – 2-1/2″ x 3-1/2″
  • Stampin’ Dimensionals
  • Basic Gray – 1-7/8″ x 2-7/8″
  • Smoky Slate – 1-3/4″ x 2-3/4″

I stamped the sentiment from Little Delights, a multi-holiday photopolymer stamp set on page 59 of Stampin’ Up!’s July-December 2021 Mini Catalog. The skull (one of four characters in the stamp set with no coordinating punch) is from Cutest Halloween photopolymer stamp set on page 51 of the catalog. Both of these sets are showcased in my products listing below.

If you like this sophisticated mix of silver, Basic  Gray and Basic Black as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:

  1. I love the Lily’s chocolate treats. My son and daughter in law are doing keto so this would be a perfect treat for them. You are correct can’t give them to kiddos for many reasons but mainly because you would go broke. Have a great day and thanks for sharing your creation.

  2. Such a delightful way to wrap up a treat. The ribbon is perfection.

  3. I think it is adorable esp the ribbon! BTW-I totally think dental floss will fit in there if need to use something other than candy! 🙂

  4. What a FUN creation my friend. And that 1-1/2″ Metallic Mesh Ribbon just SCREAMS to be added to this tombstone box. TFS!

  5. The box is adorable and the mesh ribbon is perfection. Total cuteness and a great idea for my grandson and his college roommates. Enjoy your day!
