A Merry Time of Giving

I’m sharing a simple card today with a bundle you may have overlooked in Stampin’ Up!’s July-December 2021 Mini Catalog. It’s tucked away in the back and covers a variety of Holidays – and the Time of Giving Bundle is really, really wonderful! Here’s the card I made with this must-have bundle:

Time of Giving Bundle, Stampin Up!, Brian King, Christmas cardAt the risk of making a card that looks patriotic, I mixed red, white and blue (and tiny touches of green) to make this card with Santa, his sleigh and a beautiful midnight sky. Before I share HOW I made this card, let me show you the easy-to-miss Time of Giving Bundle:

Time of Giving Bundle, Stampin Up! 156762The Giving Gifts Dies that are a part of the Time of Giving Bundle are INCREDIBLE! While each of them coordinates with a Tailor Made Tags Dies in Stampin’ Up!’s 2021 Annual Catalog, they don’t have to be used with the tag. That said, you should have the tags, too, because you’ll want to cut some super-cute tags with them. 🙂

Here’s a closer look at the scene I created on my card:

Here’s how I built this scene:

  • I cropped a fun, red-and-white panel from the Gingerbread & Peppermint 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper, cutting along the pattern in the paper.
  • I placed the Santa Die on the patterned paper and ran it through my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. The die cut into the paper – the parts you see in blue are what was ultimately cut OUT of the paper.
  • I cut the same die out of Real Red cardstock and trimmed around the edges to create a panel I could glue over the patterned paper cutout.
  • I glued that panel on a piece of Night of Navy that I cut to the size of the patterned paper panel.
  • I cutout the stars and moon (also from the set of dies) from Thick Basic White and glued them to the sky behind Santa.
  • I layered this panel with Real Red and Thick Basic White cardstock and popped that up on a Real Red card base.
  • I stamped “Merry” with Real Red ink on Thick Basic White cardstock, cut around it and popped it up at the base of the focal panel on this card.

Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Gingerbread & Peppermint 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper:

I love the Santa die and I think this is the first I have seen it displayed by anyone and look how you did it ! Wow ! Now it definitely goes on my “WANT” list .

  6. This was the first set I ordered out of the mini catalog. I would never think of a red, white and blue combo for Christmas but, being the master card maker that you are, you pulled it off magnificently. I love it. Thanks for sharing Brian.
