Happy Birthday with Whimsy & Wonder

This is a little known fact, but people still have birthdays in the Fall months. Who knew?! In the middle of all the gorgeous Fall-themed projects and Christmas cards, it’s important to take a break from the Christmas supplies to make a festive birthday card for your friends and family who celebrate late-year birthdays. But if you aren’t able to separate from your Fall and Christmas products, maybe…just maybe…you can work them into a card that’s perfect for a birthday celebration.

This birthday card is made with a Christmas-themed pack of papers and a set of dies designed for Christmas – who’d a thunk it so? Here’s my card:

The gorgeous stripes that build the backdrop for my sentiment and the Mossy Meadow and white circle below the sentiment are pulled from the Whimsy & Wonder Specialty Designer Series Paper. I love the stripes, and I LOOOOVE the colors features – Polished Pink, Misty Moonlight, Mint Macaron, Mossy Meadow and Blushing Bride. The “happy” on my card is cropped with two dies in the Christmas Cheer Dies, sold separately or as a part of the Words of Cheer Bundle. Here’s a look at this incredible bundle (I’ve used it in a lot of my projects since the Mini Catalog was first released):

The Polished Pink “happy” was cropped with the die at the bottom of the picture above, and the Basic White “happy” was cropped with the just above it. You may have noticed that this die has little branches popping out of the die. While I think the flourishes are gorgeous on a Christmas card, I simply snipped those off with my Paper Snips to make it more birthday-appropriate. Here’s a closer look:

I stamped “BIRTHDAY” with the Blossoms in Bloom stamp set with Polished Pink ink and snipped around the sentiment. I also added a little “bling” with three Polished Pink gems from the 2021-2023 In Color Jewels. With the Mossy Meadow circle below them, I popped these elements up over a larger circle of vellum cardstock. The vellum cardstock piece allows us a peek at the gorgeous, striped paper beneath it.
