Let’s Celebrate for the InKing Royalty Blog Hop

Many of my Stampin’ Up! team members (not only those with blogs) share their gorgeous projects in our team’s Facebook community – there’s such amazing and inspiring creativity in this group! I’m always excited when my team’s blog hop rolls around, though, because I get to share some of their amazing work with you. I’m just as excited to see their projects as you are, and I am proud to share them with you.

InKing Royalty Blog Hop - December 2021Welcome to InKing Royalty’s December Blog Hop! During this year’s blog hops, we are having fun with our stamping favorites – our favorite themes for seasonal cards and projects. This month’s projects are all about party fun – festive gatherings like New Year’s, birthdays and other fun times. How fun! We are excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

Let’s Celebrate!

My party card started with a simple idea – I cut a striped paper in 1″ strips and staggered the strips to create a fun pattern. That black-and-white pattern felt “so retro” that I built a “very ’80’s” card around it. With the Create Together stamp set and some bright-and-cheery colors, I made this card for today’s hop:

Create with Friends, Stampin Up!, Brian KingThe background strips are cropped from the Pattern Party Host Designer Series Paper, one of my all-time favorite packs of paper that’s available with Stampin’ Rewards (a pack of 48 sheets of 12″ x 12″ papers for $18 of Stampin’ Rewards is hard to beat!). Once your Stampin’ Up! order exceeds $150, you can redeem this pack of papers (and pay a $3 difference). Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in this incredible pack of papers:

Pattern Party Host Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up!, 155426I stamped the sentiment with the Create with Friends stamp set and cropped the large “Celebrate” with a Stitched Rectangles Die. I love this set – there are so many great sentiments you can build with the mix of words in the set. Here’s a look:

Create with Friends, Stampin Up! 156058Several years ago I was fortunate to tour Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater home in Pennsylvania. The house is famous for its architecturally gorgeous style and its cantilevered (a structured element where only one side is attached to the support from which it protrudes) balconies – check out this amazing house here.  When I added the Daffodil Delight rectangle below the left side of my sentiment, I wanted to anchor the sentiment rather than just let it float in the center of the card. It’s not a stretch at all to say my card is a comparable addition to the world of art as this multi-million dollar home. ♥

Other than the black and white squares that create a backdrop for my festive card, I built my card with bold, bright colors. If you like this mix of Daffodil Delight, Coastal Cabana and Poppy Parade as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:
