Sneak Peek: Nuts & Bolts for Valentine’s Day

I love beautiful things for Valentine’s Day – hearts, flowers, modern designs. I’m also drawn to cutesy images that are perfect for fun Valentine’s Day projects. While the Sweet Conversations Bundle (p. 10 of the January – June 2022 Mini Catalog) and Love & Happiness Bundle (p. 11 of the January – June 2022 Mini Catalog) are heart-filled, love-centered sentiments that are perfect for February 14, the adorable robots in the Nuts & Bolts stamp set (p. 13 of the January – June 2022 Mini Catalog) make me smile. I couldn’t wait to create a sweet card with this guy:

If that little heart-presenting guy doesn’t win you over, be sure to check out the other adorable robots and sentiments in the set. “Greetings, kind human” is the sentiment that sold me on this set, but all of the elements are pretty great! If you make a card for your young kids or grand kids (or great-grand kids?), this set is a must-have. Here’s a look at the Nuts & Bolts stamp set:

Nuts and Bolts, Stampin Up!, 157650“You make my heart go beep” – is there anything more adorable than that?! I stamped my robot with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Smoky Slate cardstock. I wanted to “try something” that worked out well, which meant I didn’t have to “try something else.” Yay! I colored some white highlights along the right side of my robot with a white Colored Pencil and then filled in the rest of the robot with a Basic Gray Colored Pencil. I colored the heart with a Melon Mambo Colored Pencil. Such a fun look – here’s a closer look at my finished robot:

Behind my robot I added three strips of Melon Mambo cardstock to add a fun design element to my card. The strips help to highlight the pink heart at the center of the image. Sweet, huh?

If you like this mix of Smoky Slate (perfect for robots), Basic Black (perfect for outlines and words) and Melon Mambo (perfect for hearts) as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this graphic for future reference:
