Be Inspired with Dahlia Days

It’s time for another Be Inspired Design Team Blog Hop – what fun! The Be Inspired Design Team is a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from all over the world who are excited to share our themed projects with you. I’m so honored to be a part of this group of talented stampers!

For today’s Be Inspired Blog Hop, we are sharing projects we’ve made with some of the amazing products in Stampin’ Up!’s January – June 2022 Mini Catalog. While it’s not Spring all over the world, I have a good feeling you are going to enjoy some amazing floral designs in this hop (the mini catalog is filled with flowers). We hope our projects inspire you and that you leave with lots of fun ideas! If you aren’t starting the hop here, then you probably just popped over from the amazing project shared by my talented friend Carolynn Sander.

Dahlia Days

My card features two products from Stampin’ Up!’s January – June 2022 Mini Catalog – the Dahlia Dies Bundle and two patterns from the Artfully Composed Designer Series Paper. While these products are bundled together in the catalog, they worked really well together for this card. Here’s my card for today’s hop:

Dahlia Days Bundle, Artistically Composed Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up!, Brian King

I make many cards with flowers – especially when I am making a card for someone who loves flowers. Though I am not very proficient at building arrangements with flowers, but I really enjoyed playing with this set. The gorgeous, full-cardfront panel is cropped with one of the Detailed Dahlias Dies (as is the sentiment on my card). The sentiment and frame are stamped with the Dahlia Days stamp set. I love the combination. Here’s a look at the Dahlia Days Bundle:

Dahlia Days Bundle, Stampin Up! 157802Not only do I love the frame image from the Dahlia Days, but I love the sentiments (and fonts) incorporated in this stamp set. Here’s a closer look at this sentiment:

The Pale Papaya backdrop and Calypso Coral panel on my card are pulled from the Artfully Composed Designer Series Paper (the Calypso Coral base is cropped from the same page as the large die above. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Artfully Composed Designer Series Paper:

Artfully Composed Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up! 157750There’s a tiny print on the Pale Papaya base (the second pattern on the top row above) and a beautiful distressed texture on the Calypso Coral piece (the fourth pattern on the bottom row above). I only added glue to select pieces of the large cutout so that pieces would lift off the card base around the edges. Here’s a closer look at how those work together:

Since I was determined to showcase Pale Papaya and Calypso Coral on my card (both pulled from the Artfully Composed Designer Series Paper), I knew I needed a rich color to accent these orange tones. Blackberry Bliss gave me the bold and rich color I needed to complete the color mix on my card. If you like this mix of Pale Papaya, Calypso Coral and Blackberry Bliss as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:

  4. Eclectic but beautiful color palette. Love the subtle background DSP, too. Really plays off the die cut. This is a 100% CASE for sure!

    • Thanks, Linda! I had fun with this die – it worked well to cut it and use on only a portion of this card front. It’s the stamp set that wow’d me the most, though. Love it! ♥
