Paper Pumpkin Alternatives – Safari Celebration

On Saturday I hosted my monthly Zoom call with my Paper Pumpkin customers. During our Pumpkin in the Fungeon call, I share some fun ideas with the items included in the monthly kit, and my customers share their brilliant ideas. It’s always such fun to see what others are making and to spend that time with my customers who participate. I love this time to connect with my customers.

Pumpkin in the Fungeon, Brian KingToday I’m sharing some alternative projects with this last month’s Safari Celebration kit – a whimsical kit with some adorable characters, beautiful leaves and really great sentiments. Here’s a look a the finished projects from the February 2022 Paper Pumpkin kit:

These cards are adorable, right?! The festive characters are pretty fun, but the elements of the kit and patterns on the cards (and inside the envelopes) are beautiful, too. Most of my projects feature the beautiful elements of the kit.

Here’s a look at the stamp set that came with the other elements of this kit:

I made a handful of projects to share with my customers during our Pumpkin in the Fungeon call – I shared a trio of cards from this kit on Monday (you can see that project here), and today I’m sharing three more projects.

Here are three alternative projects with the Safari Celebration Paper Pumpkin Kit:

Congratulations!

How can you complete an alternative project with a Paper Pumpkin Kit without decorating a Mini Paper Pumpkin Box? I cropped 1-3/4″ x 3-1/2″ panels from the three card bases in the Safari Celebration Paper Pumpkin kit and positioned them right next to each other on the lid of a Mini Paper Pumpkin Box (#153069 in Stampin’ Up!’s 2021 Annual Catalog). Here’s a look:

Safari Celebration Paper Pumpkin Alternative Projects, Stampin Up!, Brian KingI decorated my box lid with a vellum circle from the kit, a circle from the kit (I used the back of the printed circle) and three leaves from the kit). I added a little color to the little faux sea glass (also from the kit) with a Soft Succulent Stampin’ Write Marker. The sentiment on my box is the back side of a printed band from the kit – I stamped the sentiment (from the kit) with Fresh Freesia ink and popped it up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Perfectly sweet, isn’t it?!

Thank You with Beautiful Shapes Dies

After I had cut into the card bases from the kit (and fallen in love with the color combination), I cropped a bunch of small hexagons with my Beautiful Shapes Dies – the dies include a duo of hexagons and a duo of half-hexagons, so it was easy to crop the elements for this card:

Safari Celebration Paper Pumpkin Alternative Projects, Stampin Up!, Brian KingNot only did I use my small hexagons and small half-hexagons to crop the base of this note card, but I cropped the focal images with the larger hexagons in the pack AND stamped the “thank you” with Bumblebee and accented the sentiment with light Fresh Freesia spots with elements from the Hello Beautiful Bundle. Here’s a look at the Hello Beautiful Bundle, which includes the Hello Beautiful stamp set and Beautiful Shapes Dies:

Hello Beautiful Bundle, Stampin Up! 158047On Sunday, I introduced you to the Super-Awesome Fun Time Card Kit Emma Goddard and I are hosting for you. For the launch of our kit, which includes exclusive projects from Emma and me, we are focusing on the Hello Beautiful Bundle. Hello with Cactus Cuties

Of the three projects I’ve shared with you today, this one makes me happiest. The warm, gorgeous colors and patterns remind me so much of Southwestern designs, so I couldn’t help but to reach for my Cactus Cuties Bundle to create a new project with the elements of the Safari Celebration Kit. Here’s my card:

The Bumblebee Layer on this card is cut from the inside of one of the envelopes in the kit. The leaf on the left is cropped with a Soft Succulent card base and the Tropical Leaves Dies (#157761) in Stampin’ Up!’s January – June 2022 Mini Catalog. It’s the cactus that made me so happy, though.

My cactus and flowers are cropped with the remaining elements of the card bases used in the first two projects I shared with you today using the Cactus Builder Punch – I love that punch! The adorable “hello” was stamped with a sentiment in the Cactus Cuties stamp set on one of the printed circles in the kit. Here’s a look at the Cactus Cuties Bundle:

I love the designed projects in so many of the Paper Pumpkin kits, but I also have fun building alternative projects with the pieces-parts in the kits.

March’s Paper Pumpkin

Here’s a quick sneak peek of March’s Paper Pumpkin Kit:

I’m already excited about the March Kit – and I still two weeks before I can hope to experience it. The Beyond the Horizon Paper Pumpkin kit is designed to coordinate with the papers in the New Horizons 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (which I love).

Here are some stats about this kit:

  • The kit contains enough elements to make 9 cards (3 each of 3 designs) and 9 coordinating envelopes.
  • The kit includes a Misty Moonlight Classic Stampin’ Spot.
  • The kit comes with a BONUS STAMP SET – that’s two stamp sets for the price of one.
  • Coordinating Colors: Bumblebee, Calypso Coral, Evening Evergreen, Misty Moonlight, Night of Navy, Old Olive, Pale Papaya
