Every Storm That Comes Also Ends

Card making is therapy for so many of us. Not only is stamping a creative outlet in my day-to-day life, but it gives me a great medium for communicating with the people I love (and has introduced me to so many more people to love). While many of my cards make their way through the mail to someone I love, some are just a creative way to get my feelings onto paper. If you’ve watched the news or visited social media or talked to another person over the past couple of weeks, then you are likely also feeling lots of fear, frustration, anger or compassion (or an ever-evolving mix of them all). As I was studying the gorgeous papers in the Waves of the Ocean Designer Series Paper, I came across these bright blue and bright yellow patterns and knew I needed to make this card:

The Waves of the Ocean Designer Series Paper is a limited-time offering that first came available last week. While the entire collection is wonderful, every page of this paper is an absolute stunner. Here’s a look at the gorgeous mix of patterns and colors in the new pack of papers:

Waves of the Ocean Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up!, 159982 And how about that sentiment?! Is it not absolutely gorgeous?! I love that the font and size are a bit understated but that the statement wallops a punch. “Every storm that comes also ends” is such a wonderful sentiment for anyone who is going through a tough time, and it’s poignant here, too. The sentiment is found in a set that’s proved popular with many of my customers over the past several months – Flowering Rain Boots. Here’s a look at this gorgeous bundle:

The heart on my card is built with two punches of the heart in the Heart Punch Pack. I punched a full heart with Daffodil Delight and then angled the Pacific Point cardstock in the punch for the top portion of the heart. I can’t say I’ve ever punched a heart with Pacific Point OR Daffodil Delight, but they made sense to me here.

While the principle colors on my card are Daffodil Delight and Pacific Point, I pulled a little bit of the Night of Navy from the blue panel for the base of my card. I tried Pacific Point, but that gave me too much Pacific Point. I tried Daffodil Delight, but that gave me too much Daffodil Delight. The Night of Navy base allowed the bright colors on the focal panel to shine. If you like this mix of Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point and Night of Navy as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:

Brian, I totally agree with you, I’m so grateful for this card-making craft that also has introduced me to so many fabulous and amazing friends whom I love, you, my dear, are one of them.
This hobby is a way to connect with people that live far away, people we might never meet in person but still, we feel we know them through our cards and, this hobby also is an outlet for when the stresses of Life get to be a little heavy at times, when we are creating, our mind steps away from the mayhem and focuses on the beauty on our work table, the colors, the paper, the layout.
Your card is beautiful, it expresses what you’re feeling and pays tribute to the suffering of all of those people so far away.
    Thank you for sharing.
    Stay healthy and safe.
    XO
