Much Luck & Good Fortune

A large delivery is headed to the post office today – the kits from the first “Brian & Emma’s Super-Awesome Fun Time Card Kits” (a joint effort with my super-talented friend, Emma Goddard) are being mailed out today. I couldn’t be happier for this month’s kits to be delivered to the participants. I had so much fun assembling the projects and look forward to the next one (Emma and I are already planning and can’t wait to share it with you).

I didn’t set out to make a St. Patrick’s Day card when I cropped the ginkgo leaves with the Good Fortune Dies, but that’s kinda’ where this card ended up. It’s beautiful, it’s simple, it’s definitely a St. Patrick’s Day card. 🙂 Here’s my card:

Our first “Brian & Emma’s Super-Awesome Fun Time Card Kit” features products from the Abstract Beauty Suite of products, including the Abstract Beauty 4″ x 6″ Specialty Designer Series Paper. While most of the pages in this pack of papers are graphic, abstract patterns, I kept coming back to this beautiful ombre page from the pack that’s soft, sweet and beautiful. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in this pack of papers:

The ginkgo leaves and sentiment on this card are pulled from the Crane of Fortune Bundle. I cropped the leaves and framed the focal panel with a gold sheet from the Gold & Rose Gold 6″ x 6″ Metallic Specialty Paper. Here’s a closer look at the shine from this paper:

There are some GORGEOUS pages in the Symbols of Fortune Specialty Designer Series Paper that coordinates with the Crane of Fortune Bundle, but (as I shared above) I really wanted to work with this ombre page from the Abstract Beauty Papers. Here’s a look at the Crane of Fortune Bundle:

Crane of Fortune Bundle, Stampin Up!, 157663Based on the shading of tones in the ombre page, I would have guessed this page was Mint Macaron, but the Just Jade really shows through when it’s shown against a backdrop of Just Jade cardstock. Just Jade is one of five In Colors that (barring a color refresh) will be retiring soon. If you need to restock on some of those colors, now’s a good time!
