There are several elements of the simple card I’m sharing today that might leave you scratching your head a bit. For starters, the warm, rich colors might not be what you’re used to seeing as Spring begins to approach. While my card is simple in design, there are still some rustic and vintage elements you don’t usually see from me. Here’s my “just because” card with the Ranuculus Romance Bundle:
Isn’t that large flower absolutely gorgeous?! The flower can be cut into a piece of cardstock or cut out (as shown here) – there’s one die to cut the inside pieces and one die to cut the outside layer. They can be layered together to cut out the entire flower. Love that! Here’s a look at the Ranunculus Romance Bundle:
This bundle is a bit more “vintage” than I am typically drawn to. I just love that big flower, the GORGEOUS leaf and the sweet sentiments in the set. How could I NOT pick up this bundle?!
I cropped the leaf from the coordinating dies so that it would peak out from the side of the flower without showing through the cropped pieces of the flower. I could have avoided that by simply cropping a full cutout with Very Vanilla and layering it behind the large flower, but this was a fun task for me. 🙂 Here’s a closer look:
You can also see that I used two of the stamps from the Ranunculus Romance stamp set to create patterns on the Crumb Cake panel on my card – I stamped off those images once on scrap paper before stamping here to give a lighter concentration of the ink (and to not take away from the flower at the heart of the card).
The colors are not expected in Spring, but they certainly are rich and beautiful, don’t you think? If you like this mix of Crumb Cake, Soft Suede and Merry Merlot as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:
