Easter Wishes with Easter Friends

Sometimes a beautiful card doesn’t require fancy papers, gorgeous ribbons or awe-inspiring techniques – sometimes a simple image that’s inked and stamped can be all the card needs…and, of course, a few layers of cardstock behind it. Since Easter Friends debuted in Stampin’ Up!’s January – June 2022 Mini Catalog, I’ve been excited to ink up the sweet bunny at the center of the set – perhaps the day before Easter is the perfect time! Here’s my card with the Easter Friends bunny:

Easter Friends, Stampin Up!, Brian King, Easter cardIsn’t that bunny so sweet?! I may have stretched the truth a bit when I said the bunny was the center of this set. I mean, the little chick is ADORABLE, and the photo-bombing duck is quite a ham (an intentional Easter reference). Here’s a look at this adorable stamp set:

Easter Friends, Stampin Up!, 157737The card didn’t really need much more that the sweet bunny (in my opinion), but I added a sweet sentiment and a tiny flower to accent the floppy bunny. The sentiment is from the A Wish for Everything stamp set, and the flower is cropped from Basic White cardstock with the Floral Squares Dies, part of the All Squared Away bundle that’s retiring soon.

Because the simple layers on this card help to support the sweet bunny, I want to share the measurements with you so you can recreate them in your projects. Here are the measurements, starting with the base of the card and working up to the flower:

  • Blushing Bride – 4-1/4″ x 11″ (scored at 5-1/2″)
  • Stampin’ Dimensionals
  • Crumb Cake – 3-7/8″ x 4-3/8″
  • Basic White – 3-3/4″ x 4-1/2″
  • Stampin’ Dimensionals
  • Crumb Cake – 3-1/2″ x 4-3/4″
  • Basic White – 3-3/8″ x 4-5/8″
  • Blushing Bride – 3-3/8″ x 5/16″
  • Basic White – cropped with flower from Floral Squares Dies

The center of my flower is a White Classic Matte Dot that I lightly colored with a Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blend. After I pressed the dot (with a self-adhesive backing) into the center of the flower, I pressed the flower into a piercing mat (applying pressure on the matte dot). That allowed the petals of the tiny flower to fold out just the way I wanted them to. Here’s a closer look:
