All the Love with Best Butterflies

As soon as we were able to order from the new catalog on Tuesday, I placed an overnight order for some goodies I couldn’t wait to get my hands on. As soon as they arrived yesterday, I had to make a card – a summery, sweet card with an incredible, new bundle and color I love. Here’s my card:

Best Butterflies Bundle, smooching technique, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingThe sentiment and two butterflies on my card are from the new Best Butterflies Bundle – the collection of great stamps and dies gives us what we need to build a fun, butterfly-filled project. Here’s a look at the bundle, which includes the Best Butterflies photopolymer stamp set and the coordinating Build a Butterfly Dies: Best Butterflies Bundle, Stampin Up! 159120The colors I used in my card and the Fresh Freesia panel on the base of the card are both pulled from the Butterfly Kisses 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper – what a gorgeous collection of brilliant colors and fun patterns. Here’s a look at the designs and colors in this pack of papers:

Butterfly Kisses Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up!, 159112If you were focused on the beautiful butterflies on my card, you might have missed the frame around the focal panel. The frame (cropped with Basic Gray) and the sentiment oval are cropped from a stand-alone set of dies (the dies are not sold with a coordinating stamp set as a part of a bundle). Here’s a look at the Fabulous Frames Dies:

Fabulous Frames Dies, Stampin Up! 159163So Much Shine! There are a lot of shiny elements on this card – before I share the short list, here’s a quick close-up of one of the butterflies on the card:

Best Butterflies Bundle, smooching technique, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingHere are the elements of the card that add so much shine:

  • The Parakeet Party splatter is painted onto a piece of Shimmery White cardstock – there are shiny flecks in the paper that add a beautiful shine. To create the Parakeet Party splatter on my card, I pressed my ink pad on a large clear block to transfer the ink to the block. I wet the block with water and a Stampin’ Spritzer, picked up the ink with a window sheet, sprayed it with water and the pressed it onto the Shimmery White panel. Such fun!
  • I colored a trio of Opal Rounds with my Parakeet Party Stampin’ Blends – they add texture to the card and the shiny flecks inside the embellishment are still visible.
  • I saturated both of my butterflies with my Wink of Stella Glitter Pen – beautiful shine with no mess. Gotta’ love that!

The trio of Parakeet Party, Fresh Freesia and Calypso Coral were pulled right from the Butterfly Kisses 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. If you love this mix of colors as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:
