I love to mix grays and browns – there’s something so natural about it and yet something so unexpected about the combination. I created a Father’s Day card with the Lighthouse Point Bundle that gave me an opportunity to mix these neutral tones, and I couldn’t be happier about how it turned out. Here’s my card:
The lighthouse on my card is build with several dies in the Lighthouse Dies, part of the Lighthouse Point Bundle. I’m going to walk you through all of the layers I cropped to build the lighthouse, but let’s start with the bundle. Here’s the Lighthouse Point Bundle:
Here are the layers on the lighthouse I created on my card, starting with the base and working my way up:
- Full lighthouse (bottom, right image above) – Thick Basic White
- Detailed lighthouse (top, left image above) – Kraft
- Lighthouse cupola (center of image above) – Early Espresso
- Base of lighthouse (cropped with full lighthouse and snipped) – Early Espresso
- Lighthouse windows (negatives from lighthouse cupola) – So Saffron
- Balcony railing (below cupola in image above) – Thick Basic White
I cropped several colors and combinations to arrive at this lighthouse – it was fun to play, and I love this final combination.
After I’d built the lighthouse I wanted for my card, I needed a beautiful backdrop. While I COULD HAVE built a beautiful water-and-landscape backdrop with the Oceanfront stamp set, but this theme gave me an opportunity to play with the Pool Party panel of birds in the Design a Daydream Host Designer Series Paper. Despite the printed words on page 179, this pack includes 48 pages (4 each of 12 double-sided designs). This is a host product that is only available with Stampin’ Rewards for just $18. That means you can pick up this pack of paper with a $150 order – a great incentive to stretch that order just a little bit more. 🙂 Here’s a closer look at the patterns and colors in this pack of papers:
While the sentiment on my card doesn’t scream “Happy Father’s Day,” that was the intent of my card. I love the saying – “You are proof there is good in the world.” What a kind statement that’s useful for so many occasions I can think of. Here’s a look at the Through it Together stamp set:
The mix of warm tones on this card make it perfect for a lighthouse scene and perfect for a Father’s Day card. If you like this mix of Pool Party, Gray Granite, Kraft and Early Espresso as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:

What a nice, crisp and clean card. I admit, this bundle wasn’t on my radar, but it’s a great set in person. I love the use of the dsp with the birds; very creative (of course). I also am digging the colors you used. Thanks for sharing.
