Summer is in full-force – is there a more perfect time to stay inside and make Fall-themed cards?! I love the warm colors of Autumn, so I was immediately drawn to the page of acorns and leaves in one of the pages of Rings of Love Designer Series Paper. Here’s the Thanksgiving card I made with this paper and a few other favorites you might have sitting around:
Is this little panel of Designer Series Paper not gorgeous?! The Rings of Love Designer Series Paper is one of many products you can choose for free with a $50 order (through August 30 or while supplies last). Well, friends, this paper has been so popular that it’s currently not available. A note on the Demonstrator site says some might be delivered August 8, but I understand there are no guarantees. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Rings of Love Designer Series Paper:
The pattern I showcase on this card is the first page on the bottom row above. I love the unexpected mix of colors (Poppy Parade, Night of Navy, Soft Suede and Crushed Curry) for these leaves – it shouldn’t work, but it does! I cropped these pattern with a Stitched Rectangles Die and then framed it with Crushed Curry cardstock. I added that to one of the Scalloped Contours Dies cutout with Thick Basic White. That is popped up over a piece of Crumb Cake that was texture embossed with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder and lightly crinkled around the edges. I didn’t glue down the edges to the Crumb Cake panel would look more worn than the crisp layers above it.
With inspiration from a project my friend, Emma Goddard, made for one of our Super-Awesome Fun Time Card Kits, I wrapped twine around the scalloped layer, allowing the inside point of the scalloped design to hold the twine in place. Here’s a closer look:
I love the “Happy Thanksgiving” sentiment on this card. The fonts are beautiful and versatile, and I love the sayings in the Painted Pheasant stamp set. I don’t know if I’ll ever use the pheasant at the center of this stamp set, but I adore all of the other images and sentiments. I realize, too, that I as I say this, I feel challenged to make a card with the pheasant… Here’s a look at the Painted Pheasant stamp set, new in Stampin’ Up!’s July-December 2022 Mini Catalog:
The Rings of Love Designer Series Paper includes painted images with Soft Suede. To accent the tones of the watercolored images, I accented the paper with Crumb Cake and Early Espresso. The browns give this gorgeous panel a rich backdrop. If you like this mix of Early Espresso, Crumb Cake and Crushed Curry as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future use:
