On Point with Hippest Hippos

When the spotlight is on you, sometimes you just have to dance. I’ve wanted to give the ballerina hippo in Hippest Hippos a proper spotlight for some time, and I was excited to share it with you yesterday. With Stampin’ Up!’s release of additional Sale-a-Bration items, though, she was pushed back a day. She’s just as joyful today as she was yesterday, so enjoy! Here’s my card:

Hippest Hippos, Hippo Dies, Labels Aglow Dies, Stampin Up!, Brian King

I mean, really! How adorable is this on-pointe ballerina?! I stamped her with the Hippest Hippos stamp set (one of the products eligible to be selected with a $50 order during the July-August Sale-a-Bration event or when supplies run out). Here’s a look at this adorable set:

Hippest Hippos, Stampin Up!, 159921I stamped the ballerina with Memento Tuxedo Black in on Thick Basic White cardstock and colored her with a Polished Pink and Gray Granite Stampin’ Blends (and a touch of Petal Pink on her slippers). I cropped the dancing hippo with one of the Hippo Dies (another product eligible to be selected with a $50 order during the July-August Sale-a-Bration event or when supplies run out). With a $100 order, you can select both of these coordinating products – what a great reason to place an order! Here’s a look at the Hippo Dies:

Hippo Dies, Stampin Up! 159928Not only do the dies  crop each of the hippos in the Hippest Hippos stamp set, but the set of dies also includes a boatload of accessories for your new, hip(po) friends. I added three hearts, cropped with the Hippo Dies from a piece of Polished Pink 2021-2023 In Color 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper and added them around the sentiment on the card.

There are several ways to shine the spotlight on my dancing hippo, but I knew the burst of sparkles from the Labels Aglow Dies would give her a perfect backdrop. While the dies are designed to coordinate with a sophisticated Christmas sentiment, they really help my hippo to shine. Here’s a look at the Labels Aglow Dies, part of the Brightest Glow Bundle in Stampin’ Up!’s July-December 2022 Mini Catalog:

Brightest Glow Bundle, Stampin Up! 159552It’s not often you’ll find an all-pink card on my blog, but this two-ton beauty demanded to be surrounded by pink.
