So Grateful with Soft Seedlings

You know how much I love Autumn, so I’m not going to go into my love for the crisp and cool air, the warm colors and the delicious foods of Fall. I’m not going to explain how much I love the transition of seasons from an intolerably hot Summer to a delightful Autumn day. I get that Fall signals that Winter is just around the corner, but I’m not going to think about that while don’t talk about my love for Autumn. Fall cards are some of my favorites to make (but I don’t need to tell you that), so you can imagine how much fun I had making this card with the Soft Seedlings stamp set:

Soft Seedlings is a Distinktive stamp set in Stampin’ Up!’s July-December 2022 Mini Catalog. Not only do I love the beautiful image of the maple leaf, but how the Distinktive image (giving more details and layers to the image), but I love the distressed look of the leaf. Not to be overshadowed, though, the sentiments in this set are really wonderful! Here’s a look at Soft Seedlings:

I stamped the maple leave on a panel of Sahara Sand cardstock that’s positioned just left of center on this Merry Merlot panel. That’s not all, though! To add a little texture to the Merry Merlot panel behind the focal image, I stamped the leaf multiple times on Merry Merlot with Merry Merlot ink. I love the effect.

The “so grateful” sentiment is cropped with the smallest Deckled Rectangles Die that’s positioned over a crosshatch pattern I love so much! I cropped the crosshatch image with the Chic Dies on Basic White cardstock and then cut the die-cut piece in half, adding a little shape to the cut edge by cutting into the pattern a bit (vs. cutting directly down the middle). Here’s a closer look:

I accented my Sahara Sand and Merry Merlot card with three copper Brushed Metallic Dots. These dots add a little metallic shine to the rich and beautiful base. If you like this mix of Sahara Sand, Merry Merlot and Copper as much as I do, I hope you will save this for future reference:
